Exhausted pretty much sums it up, thanks for asking! I had a nanna nap yesterday and today! I'm fine when I'm at work with the children - it's the paperwork and concentration after that!! I have a final year teaching student in my class for Feb and Mar though so that will release me for some extra time to catch up (hopefully).

  • Well done Mumof2 - both for tackling it head on and sharing your experiences. I wish you well.

We had an appointment to get DS1 properly assessed as it hasnt been done for 3 years - and then he was too anxious to attend the assessment!! So he had to be referred again and we are waiting for a second attempt. Getting a proper diagnosis for his mental health issues makes a real difference in terms of the help and support we can access.

I feel like I have made good progress in the house this week - its not been easy but I know that I am really behind with stuff and its going to take time to get up to date. So its all about chipping away at it and keeping on top of what I have done at the same time.

OH is whipping up some out of date (but still edible cream) so we can have the scones I made earlier with jam and cream. As if I need any extra calories!!"

Off to put put a bit of washing away and see what homework DS2 has to do. Finances up to date but not bills for OH. Dont know if I can be bothered with that now.

    The plan for next week

Ok here is what I plan, next week I do a declutter and spring clean week for one type of room (either a reception, bedroom or kitchen) the following week Natty does a 'normal' week and anybody can repeat the previous week if they have more than one room of this type to do. Then I do another declutter/spring clean week for the another type of room. Natty does a normal week and then final declutter/spring clean week. By the end of February we should have covered loads and can look forward to spring all ship shape.

So which sort do we start with reception (Living/dining/study/conservatory) or a bedroom?
Thought we'd leave the kitchen a few weeks for people to use up Christmas supplies.
Bedroom would be a good one for me; I have a cunning plan :D to sort out all my jewellery, put the stuff that's roaming round loose in a drawer tidily into boxes, possibly charity-shop a few bits and pieces, and also put together a small cleaning kit in a box. So doing the bedroom would concentrate my mind (she says, hopefully) on getting this done.

The cleaning kit idea came to me this morning - I went to put in a pair of brass earrings and they were filthy - cue a scrat around under the sink to find brass cleaner and a cloth. My thought is to have a small amount of brass cleaner, silver cleaner, a couple of small cloths, etc in a little box, in the top drawer of the CoD, ready for such times.

Mumof2 lovely to "see" you; hope the therapy does you a heap of good, and you can start to enjoy life to the full.:o

No "proper" flying today - but I have decluttered £500. Deposit placed on new car; hopefully we shall be getting it in a fortnight's time.

Other than that - my lovely Black Lab friend Jessie is coming to stay for six days, on Tuesday.:T

Final update....I got through most of my list, and have stopped for the evening now! All that remains is:

    Tuesday ~ Kitchen Tinklings
Empty under the sink cupboard.. give it a wipe out and put back neatly the things you NEED.. get rid of or rehome the rest!
    Wash the windows and sills
    Clean out the microwave

Wishy-Washy Wednesday ~ Luscious Living Room, Hallway and Stairs
Sort through coats and shoes and bag
    Wipe the paintwork
Wash the windows in these rooms
    Clean out your handbag!
Wash any soft furnishings that are in need!

Thursday - Master bedsty & landing
    15 minutes filing
Wash any soft furnishing that need it
Wipe all the upstairs doors! .. both sides!!

Friday - Spare rooms and kiddies rooms Don't have, so amending to Office...
Straighten book shelves - believe me, that will take a HH at least!

...which, tbh, won't be done until next time they are on the lists. Still, my house is looking shiny, presentable, I wouldn't be embarrassed if visitors arrived unannounced (well, not at the state of my house, but possibly because I am in pj's with a face pack on!) :rotfl:

Anyhoo, haven't caught up with thread, off to do that now, then get some writing done, and settle down to a good film. Night all, until tomorrow x

eta: Mumof2, glad you are feeling you are on the road to recovery. CBT was a major eye-opener for me. It can feel like a lot to take in, but give it time! I really hope it works for you.

    Hi all

mumtwo Well done on having the courage to not only seek help but also to admit to it too. Hope your road to recovery is as smooth as it can be.
Bossy good luck with the decorating

Shower room has been stripped of it's wallpaper and had the 1st coat of paint. Frustratingly some of the paint above the shower flaked off when putting the roller across so I'll have to do a couple more coats with the brush. It does look fresher in there though so it'll hopefully be worth it. I also painted the damp stain in the bathroom with the specialist paint.

I went to W!lkos and got a tin of gloss paint also a loo roll holder & towel rail for the shower room.

I'm exhausted now and will be straight off to bed after Sherlock.

    Goodnight all

    Deco x

Dusty I don't feel like I am entitled to an opinion about the deep clean at the moment as I have bearly read a list since just before Christmas I have no idea what's wrong with me........... A bedroom would be a great place to start deep cleaning my daughters is awful and I need to sort it so we can decorate for her.

I am going to have a read through now and join up again properly tomorrow x
