    morning all
hugs good wishes and positive vibes where needed
i hope the poorlies are starting to improve
DS2 back to school this morning so im back to work later
didnt get a lot done yesterday, spent the afternoon round mils helping go through her finances. She always used to be the one that said she did everything and took care of the money but since fil passed away it almost seems like she just wants looking after and will do absolute minimum to get by. managed to persuade her that going back to getting prescriptions collected and delivered by chemist is far easier than me going drs to take the form in then 3 days later going back to collect it and then go to the chemists for her. She insisted it was easier if i did it for her but i walk everywhere so it was taking over an hour each trip. the only reason shes now gone for chemist collection option is before christmas i bumped into her at the busstop when i was coming out of the drs, i later asked where she was going and she said she always has to get off the bus outside the drs and wait 30mins for the next one to get her into town for bowling. i said in that case the half hour youre waiting you could nip in the drs yourself and pop the prescrip in the obx and the next week pick it up and take into the chemist at the side of bowls. Last week i took it down for her and as she said she had an appt for her injection i said could she save me a walk by getting the prescrip and picking it up from the chemist herself, yesterday she said shed asked the chemist to deliever them for her now as its too much of a fuss having to cross the road to get it after bowling.
the finances should have taken me half hour to go through with her but it took about 2 hours as everything had been put in different places and i had to play hunt the notebook as she claimed not to have any paper in the house. I know she is elderly and gets lonely and i really try my best but she is well enough to go cinema bowling and trips into the city to meet friends but wont consider using iceland home delivery (which she always used to) as its easier to give the shopping list to DH for me to pick up for her. He goes round everyday after work and i go round at least once a week and well as both of us going saturday and sunday. My mum is alone as well and has been for a lot longer and shes lucky if she gets a phone call of me some weeks:o sorry rant over im just feeling stressed and a bit guilty as im not sure what else i can do.

    Welcome Sag27!

Welcome back Helen Jelly! No-one who's been dealing with all your stuff should call themselves lazy. Can the moaning kids help out?

Hugs, Mrs MoneyPenny. It sounds as though your MiL is lonely, depressed and frightened. Very hard on you and your mother, eating up your time.

Ionafan, given that there are at least four Flyladies in Plymouth, we could have organised something at Chocaccino ourselves (who deosn't like chocolate!) but I sometimes wonder if the reason I like this thread is the anonymity. So, although I regularly slide in there and indulge myself, it's a Flylady Meet of One.

ETA: Hurrah Cycling Yorkie! I knew I couldn't ask again, but I was thinking about you and your cardlessness just yesterday!

Tidying has to happen today. The house is cleanish but the landing is groaning under gibble boxes and my office has a month's worth of junk stacked up. The filing tray is overflowing again, and I've got some super-urgent paperwork nipping at my heels. I'm utterly exhausted.
    Better is good enough.

mrs-moneypenny - hugs, I think you're doing the right thing by putting your foot down a bit x

Children helping - they do things if I ask, they're quite good like that, well DD is :]
Tights - I was only telling DD about knickers over the top a couple of days ago, she looked at me in horror lol

    So far today I have

    Sorted shoe rack
    Cleaned front door
    Cleaned hall mirror
Cleaned radiator - got the brush thing down inside it - found a toy flag, eraser and a gold bracelet I thought I'd lost a long time ago, the dust down there was horrifying !!!
Washed floor - will need to be done again as it was so bad
Cleaned the lampshade and replaced the bulb
    Wiped down walls
    Dusted tops of door frames
    Washed walls
    Washed hall rug

I have to admit to being thoroughly ashamed of myself for letting it get in this state, I'm filthy now but no point in having a shower just yet as the stairs are next on the list

Back to it I go :]
Projects made for craft fair - 40 :)
    1st fair on 13/4/14 :j

Mrs MP hugs. She is lonely and that is why she is doing it. However you cannot solve this (I know from my own mother). The more you rescue the less they do things for themselves. Two hours out of your day is a lot, out of her waking 16ish is not much, there are 14 more to fill. Don't feel guilty, decide what works for you and stick to it xxx

DS3 is back awake, looks pale but says he feels a little better. Going to try to get the bathroom cleaned now.

Bossy if her name is in it chances are it will be back tomorrow. Once another child had it on the name would have been hidden.

Boys home with the awful news that another student has died tragically on a family holiday, same form as the boy who died in the summer. So dreadfully sad for the family and whole school community. 2014 not looking any better than 2013 ;(

Is it possible his tummy pains are related to stuff going on? This won't have helped after the loss of puss and did he not lose granddad recently? and you having lots of unwell people close to you right now who's futures are uncertain.. it must be quite unsettling for him.

lozzy88 for the bath try vanish. The only other thing I can think of is something from HB called natural choice cleaning stone. Its a cream in a round container and comes with a sponge. Gets marks off anything bleach wont remove on sink so hoping it works on bath. Soap powder might work as well or any cream cleaner.

Happy new year everyone, late as usual :)
Hugs, spoons, sticks and chocolate to anyone who needs them.
