thanks all, i know mil is lonely and i do as much as i can but it just never feel like its enough for her. mil lives in the next street and DH is an only child so it all falls to us. im lucky that although my mum is in the next county my sister lives in her town and my brother lives in the same street so both bro sis and their children do see mum a lot and bro pops round once a week to have dinner with mum so we know she cooking etc and she looks after bros little one a couple of times a week. When i ring mum always seems to be in but always mentions going shopping or doing stuff for or with her neighbours, shes been divorced about 25 years now so has been alone all that time.
skys are blue here but its really cold - i did some washing overnight so have hung that out and reloaded the wm with another load to do tonight.
glad your cards have finally arrived CY, its shocking how long the post takes sometimesSPC~12 ot 124

Pigpen - hugs to you - being snotty is miserable. Fly yourself a hot honey and lemon and a blanket!
MrsMP - it is hard taking on so much. My MIL is very local still with FIL and only mid sixties so hardly knocking on and she still managed to get me to do most of her Christmas shopping for her!
I do put my foot down sometimes. Perhaps you can discuss with DH then you can both come up with a weekly plan that suits all?
Have done good flying today...

Skinty reporting back in : didn't do hardly any flying yesterday til stupid o'clock, except sort out school music lessons and holiday absence form for DD3 - as all H£ll broke loose with DD1 in Ireland.
DD1 is out visiting her bf in Dublin. I had a fb message waiting since 6.30am but I hadn't seen it as it was first day back to school and nursery so I was a little preoccupied to check. fb message saying please help me I've got blood in my urine, what should I do.
I asked DD1 if she had her EHIC card with her and she said no. I checked my strong box and only had her old one. I asked her if she renewed it when I sent her an email back in Oct and she said no, she didn;t think so. I rang EHIC office here and they said I couldn't renew it for her because she is over 19, but she should go to A&E and then they can ring EHIC office speak to DD1 and then fax the proof over she could have reciprocal cover and be treated.
DD1 and bf went by taxi 15 miles, went to A&E, no phones available to get an outside line to UK, so she used last of her credit on hold to EHIC office (about £8), then bf used his Irish mobile to ring EHIC office and the unhelpful woman at the other end refused to renew it for her. Between them they didn't have enough Euros to be seen. Meantime, I couldn't get an answer on her mobile as the call wasn't even ringing (at that point I was unaware that her credit had been used up) and she had disappeared of mobile FB, and I didn't know what was going on.
Got back from my BD group appt, put laptop on. Rang the hospital myself to find out why she was allowed to be left in agony without being treated, to be told that she had left the hospital 3 hours before.
I suddenly remembered when she was home at Xmas I told her she had several pieces of post to open including one which felt like a bank card. thinking that she had opened her post, I checked the box and found there were still about 10 pieces of unopened post. Her bank card was there and so was the EHIC card, so she must have renewed it and forgotten.
Quickly went on line, splashed £30 from my credit card onto her phone and tried ringing her. DD1 had made it back to the hotel where she and bf have been staying together, fb'd her the image of her EHIC card and DD1 said she was feeling too rough to drag herself back out to the hospital but just wanted to rest up and play it by ear. BF's parents dropped off more Euros to them so they had enough for a late night taxi if things got worse, which was good of them.
Left DD1 to rest, fuelled with adrenaline decided to tackle a frog getting tax sorted with my EX employers. Which turned into a ping pong email rant as they keep saying "we don't have to do it" on my 4th response my rag was well and truly lost as it read "HMRC WANT A LETTER - PLEASE COMPLY"
Even then, I still said please :mad: I am not letting this go, I will keep this up so it's quicker to get the job done than spend time reading my emails. [/RANT]
No emergency calls, texts or FB messages this morning, so checked in. DD1 passed a kidney stone this morning and although sore and in pain still, nothing like it was so she is just taking more fluids and resting up, and will wait til she gets back to Blighty to get properly checked over.
DD4 is currently napping, and I am out of spoons but need to get DS within the hour so I will find listy and see what can go
...........and breathe :rotfl:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -

Family dentist appt at 4 o'c, so just going to take it easy for a bit longer and catch 40 winksThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -

S&S over all the unit fronts and appliances!
I did the rest from memory and no doubt subconsciously blocked this out as I blipping HATE this job
I still need to mop the floor too, but DS1 needs to clean out his hammy after school so I'll do it after that.
Contemplating compiling a list of all the toiletries I have I the bathroom cupboards; my name is Fizz and I am a smellyoholicMaybe if I carry a list of everything I already have in stock, I'll be easier to call a moratorium on buying new stuff I don't actually need. Maybe. Possibly. Probably not
I need to look online for a handbag organiser; DH bought me a lovely new bag for Christmas but it's just one big hole and things keep "disappearing".
I also need to download some new books for my nook as I've read two since SaturdayAnyone have any recommendations? I'm not too keen on frivolous chick lit but that aside, I'll read almost anything!

Thank you to everyone!
With the possible exception of Royal Mail....
Very glad to hear that they've arrived at last :T
The Christmas season officially continues until February 2nd (the Feast of Candlemass) so you still have 3 weeks in which to keep them on display if you wish0 -
The BD has wandered in, made itself at home, and is eyeing up the three HM Xmas puds I have put by for desserts through the cold months.:(
Mrs MP (((HUGS))) I agree, she's feeling lonely and probably a tad disoriented with life generally, but you can't run around after her the whole time. Own feet standing on has to happen.
Skinty ooh, poor DD1 - I hope she's ok now the stone's been passed. S0d's law it had to happen while she's away.
I'm pootling around the kitchen best I can; luckily the cupboard under the sink was done recently, when the sink trap leaked and Mr LW had to fix it, so I'm certain that's all in apple pie order.
Bin day tomorrow - black rubbish bag won't be put out, as it only has a few bits in the bottom, but the pink recycling bag will go; currently in the kitchen awaiting anything I can scare up to go in it.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
