  • Aww Rach, you were on a downer and I was missing in action,:mad::mad: @ SH*TTY exes!!

:j:j at 0% transer. 0% is my very favourite percent you know.

And the house !! Pfft! I look at houses all the time as I get so fed up with mine. My friends have fabby houses and lovely kitchens and awesome bathrooms and mine is just pants BUT I then think of a programme I watched a couple of years ago for comic relief and I feel better. This programme shocked me to the core. You may have seen it. Various celebrities were living with people in the shanty towns in Africa. A female ( i think it was Angela Rippon) was living with a woman who went out each day and tried to get work doing people's washing. If she could not get work she would go with a man for money. Obviously the celebrity said no and the woman was getting angry with her as she needed money to feed her family. So when I look at my shabby home I am at least thankful I have one and we are warm and fed and I don't need to go on the game 'yet' lol

We were chatting in work yesterday as DS now has an interview for college starting September. I was laughing and saying 'sh*t how will I manage with 1 at uni and 1 in college? I'll need to go on the game' One of my male staff piped up 'well you'll need to head to the gym first':eek: cheeky git- makes end of year reports easy though as guess who will get my lower mark ?? ;):rotfl:

So chin up my friend and thank the Lord that we need not make these choices !

What a brilliant excuse to use the heart smilies xxxx

What would have I done without discovering these diaries and you gorgeous folk eh?

GMOOD I have always said you are a total inspiration

    ELM Your determination is amazing

MIT well you are just a sista :rotfl:

I watched a programme about the townships in Cape Town the other day. Also one about the crack epidemic in Rio. Like hell on earth. Hand to mouth survival with no security at all. Well I ALWAYS remind myself how lucky I am (and my life has been a WHOLE lot worse) being free of a damaging and abusive relationship is a luxury. It's easy to forget the good things though.

Today we are having the last of the chicken (I cooked it last night :T) and then we start to scavenge! Of course I can use the CC but am trying to avoid as this means less overpayments next month.

Have worked out next month already. Each Easter I usually take the kids to Cornwall for a week. It's the cheapest 'holiday'. My mum will pay half for the chalet which is still out of season prices (half of summer price) and we divide the petrol there and back (about £70) Chalet is about £120 each. Massively cheap for me and my kids. I LOVE where we go. Stunning and have been there since I was a baby!:rotfl: My sister and her kids will be in a different chalet. I get a break as my kids will play with their cousins for hours outside :T

I used to try and jog (I hate it) but now it's turned into a fast walk :rotfl: each morning. Lovely fresh air and beautiful things to look at.

Anyway I must look on the bright side......won't be web caming it any time soon MIT :rotfl: (although I saw another programme last night about women making 89,000 a year on the webcam!!!!) No, defo not going there just yet!!!!!!!:rotfl:

have a good day everyone xxxxx

The ups and downs just go with the territory of debt busting unfortunately.Great support and understanding on here though:) Sometimes I think I dont have to even leave these shores to be thankful for what I have and things look impossible there are no end of stories on this forum which give me a kick up the backside.

Cornwall - love it! Did about 12 consecutive years of family summer holidays there when the girls were little and really miss it now.

  • Aw I love Cornwall too. We used to go most years before DH's accident. Infact we'd only been home from there 6 days when the accident happened!

Glad you are feeling more positive. My Grandma says 'If we all got together and threw our problems up in the air, we'd be happy to catch our own'. No matter how bad things get there are always people worse off.

That said, please keep posting when you feel like that. You are entitled to feel that way and get support when you need it Xx

  • Glad you're feeling better after your downer earlier in the week. There was definitely something in the air, and I'm putting it down to the full moon! I felt just the same on Friday, down with everything, work, car, house. A few days later (and closer to payday!) feeling much more positive now.
You sound like you are doing so great, all that juggling on your own, so good on you girl, keep at it.
I would imagine the majority of those lives who look so perfect from the outside are far from it, keeping up appearances and all that!
Outstanding debts as of 2/11/20 1/2/21:

    CC2 0% - £978.50 878.50
    Family - £520 0
    Storecard - £248.44 (BNPL/June21) / £299.99 (BNPL/Sept21)
    Total: £5,189.13
    Savings: £943 (target £1000)
Target date to clear: July 2021 ???
  • Thank you ELM and TIAL :D

Payday will sure as hell cheer me up! Today I have a tin of coconut milk, a tin of sardines, half a cup of brown rice and some popping corn in the cupboards. I have a green pepper, cabbage, carrots and marg in the fridge. Frozen peas and potato wedges in freezer. Have access to credit so not in dire straits but want to limit usage! Don't think my DS will be happy with sardines and cabbage for dinner tonight!

He's at Explorers tonight and might need money for ice skating.

Anyway, got a couple of meetings with the boss today:eek: would love to say I'm feeling dynamic and organised but I'm NOT!!

Can't wait for the day to be over....

DD wants to dress as a diver for Sports Relief and expects me to buy her a divers outfit! Errr no I don't think so. Told her to wear leggings and a swimming costume :rotfl: she is scowling like mad :D

I'm going to wear an old karate outfit I found in my basement (bought 3 at one point......err hence debt:o:o:o) probably smells of mould! My headteacher asked me what belt I was. I replied 'white'. She said 'are you sure you're not coming in your dressing gown!' :rotfl: She has a sick sense of humour!!

Anyway wish me luck and see you on the other side!
