    Afternoon all,

Had some lovely Winter sun this morning and made the most of it by going to Aylesford Priory where my mum's ashes are scattered. It's a lovely place for a walk round, just a pity the tea shop is closed in deepest winter as the hot chocolate and cakes are yummy.

We popped in to see the in laws too, which wasn't too bad considering (long and boring story).

Back to school for DS2 tomorrow, I really don't know if he has done any homework, he says yes, but I do wonder.

I hope none of you have suffered too much in the floods, we are lucky where we live as we are quite high up, but we drove past what should have been a horse field that looked more like a lake!

Julie Thinking of you for tomorrow x

DH is cooking dinner under supervision today ;) because he wants to be able to do a roast when I have my op bless him, I still haven't heard from the hospital though :(
I have already batch cooked a lot of meals and made lots of roasties and yorkshire puddings, but I still need to do some more bits, because there is no telling how long it will take my hand to heal mainly because I am diabetic and going by my toes which are still not right since the nail op last May  which reminds me, I must phone podiatry for an appointment tomorrow.

Molly I am so glad that DS is back with you and that he has ditched the ahem it rhymes with witch ;) I am sending you lots of positive vibes for 2014 ((((((((Hugs))))))))

Julie positive vibes for your op tomorrow, I really hope that my consultant puts me on the knee replacement list this year so I will be interested to hear how things go feel free to pm me x

Right I had better go and check how DH is doing

    BFN x

  • Good afternoon all,
Very windy and wet here at the moment.
We all had haircuts today. I didn't have much cut off but it has made such a difference.
The usual washing, ironing and general house stuff today.
Dinner was roast chicken with potatoes and vegetables. I made quite a few yorkshires so several of those are now in the freezer. No chicken left over as it wasn't very big at all.
Julie, i hope all goes well with your operation tomorrow. I will be thinking of you x
Molly, i really hope 2014 is better for you x
I hope everyone has a good rest of the day and hus to those who need them.

    Evening everyone

Just sitting here waiting for my girlies to come home from their dads. Actually, I'm just going to put some grub on for me, something nice and simply as the girls aren't here for dinner. Just mini kievs and some breaded mozarella sticks and maybe some chips. Hey, the diet can start tomorrow. Did quite well at Iceland today, spent £7.50 and although it's all just quick stuff, I can feed that occasionally right? I found Hula Hoop chips which I just had to buy to see if they like them!

One of the girls is back to school tomorrow, the younger one. She's only goes preschool, so only for the morning, but means I get to spend some time with the older one. We are going to bake brownies. I bought a ready mix today, not very OS, but we haven't really baked before, so going to take it slow.

Really not looking forward to getting up early again soon, the girls have gotten used to lieins.

Really should take the decorations down, but had one look at the lights mum put up in the front window and decided I should probably leave it to her. She's back up on Tuesday to mind the girlies while I work so I have asked if she will do it. I'm so lazy, haha!

Want to start watching something new on the telly as all I seem to watch are soaps. I did see something new that is supposed to start on 8th January, but I can't remember what it's called or what channel it's on. Think it's something supernaturally, has anyone got any ideas what it might be?

Hester – hope the flooding didn't reach you. Must be awful for the people who have suffered.

Moorhen – so sorry to hear about your pupil. It's when you hear things like this that you realise that life isn't all that bad.

Glitterkitty – happy birthday for tomorrow! Where is the Warner Brothers Studio Tour, sounds great, might look it up myself!

JackieO – six years is nothing. I've been in my house eight years this April and I've done diddly squat except the front room, oh and a couple of the bedrooms. Hmm, maybe I should think about redecorating! Am thinking about painting the hallway and landing this year as the stairgates are going to leave huge holes in the walls. Really should have taken them down ages ago as my girls are now 5 and 3!

Bitsy Beans – cheese straws sound great. Have you got a recipe for them?

Thank you all for your support - LW - I think i might make that poem my mantra.

It was Bemuzed - thanks for reminding me xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

We haven't had too much rain today so the flooding has receded a bit, I'm just hoping we don't another midnight floodline phone call, as I have to get up early for work tomorrow.
DG, I'm planning on asking that question ASAP!
    GK, happy birthday for tomorrow.
Julie, hope it all goes well tomorrow.
DD's first day in her new job went well, so here's hoping it helps towards a new & more financially stable future for her & hubby.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Pollyanna - I bought a bag of the wotsits chips from Icel@nd a few months back for ds as he can be really funny with anything that comes from a potato (unless its a jacket or roast potato!) so I hoped these would tempt him, no such luck! but dh ate them and liked them.

Where has the time gone today?? been lazing round doing nothing and the time has flew, couldn't believe it when I looked at the clock and it was 7 oclock!! .. so a mad rush getting ds in the bath, he is just having milk and biscuits then up the wooden hill he'll go ready for school tomorrow, I really do love having him home but its going to be nice to get back in routine tomorrow, plus he is starting to go stir crazy.

Once he is in bed I shall pop the wm on, polish his school shoes, have a quick tidy round and then go to bed myself, its going to be awful in the morning being woken by that blooming alarm.

Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Julie - good luck for tomorrow x
