    Good morning all,

Hugs to all who are worried and down.

    Glitterkitty enjoy your day out.

Welcome trying to cut back. My list sounds very similar to your apart that i don't have a dog to walk and I have a significant amount of paperwork to tackle.

Yesterday, I managed to enter an extra £25 gift voucher on my internet grocery shop being delivered tomorrow so I now have a lot of tins, toilet rolls being delivered along with my normal shop. Thing is, we are hoping to downsize soon so I must stop buying and start using up my stocks. This dratted fibro makes my head so muddled at times.

Moorhen, so sad to hear about your pupil. Certainly puts my moanings into perspective.

Must get a move on as still in bed :o:eek:

    Take care all.

    Morning all,

Your all so kind, thank you for your good wishes it really does make a huge difference xxx
Have most of the kids for lunch today, just going to do a roast chicken, salad and roast potatoes with crusty bread.
Pud will be Victoria Sandwich. Last bit of cooking I will be doing for a while.
Later I need to pack my case, make sure I've got plenty to read, hopefully I will be home Wednesday or Thursday.
I'm also planning a nice long bath and shave my legs although I'm sure the surgeon won't notice:rotfl:

Glitterkitty have a great time in London and a happy Birthday:beer:
ivy blue I'm pretty new to crochet and found you tube great but I've been using the American stitches because there are so many more videos available. The Happy Hooker book is good but again American. I suppose it doesn't really matter as long as you stick to one or the other. Good luck, I've picked up most of my wool from charity shops and you can get a good set of hooks on eBay much cheaper than the shops.
moorhen my thoughts are with your pupil how dreadful.
tryingtocutback welcome, snoozer nice to see you

Sorry if I've missed anyone. Probably won't be around for a few days but will take my iPad and read all your news. Bye for now J x

Since I am going to be a grandma in May I have the urge to knit a simple cardigan or two. Last time I knitted regularly there were wool shops in every neighbourhood........so how best to find a simple pattern? 4ply or doubleknit? john L had wool at £3.30 a small ball yesterday eek!

Any os suggestions from the regular knitters on here gratefully received.

Well green lentil lasagne left over from last night for tea so not loads of cooking hurrah.

Have a good day folks and keep well.

Does anybody else's daughter leave their room in an absolute tip when they return to university? I asked and asked her to tidy it up but she didn't and I wanted to send her off happy not have a row. Another job to sort :(
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning all,

Hope everyone is safe and not flooded, heavy rain here all day yesterday, not raining today so far but its very cold !

Going to be doing a bit more painting today finally getting round to painting the wardrobes we built, when dad died I really could not be bothered with it but I want them finished now ! so need to crack on.

Meatball sub for dinner tonight which is nice and easy after a day of painting, will try and list some bits on ebay too the money would go towards a tumble dryer.

    Have good days all xx
  • Morning all.

HH, hope you don't need flippers x
Moorhen, how dreadful. I do hope he will be ok.

Um, trying to remember what else people said. Sorry I don't remember.

I've just had my porridge. I've had a shower. Going to take down the big tree and will have some ironing to do.

Got a beef joint to cook for dinner this evening. Got a really good bargain meat hamper for Xmas from the butcher.

Children back at school tomorrow. Dreading getting up early tbh.

I'm exhausted as well. Dh is ill. He slept downstairs last night but typically a car alarm kept going off in the middle of the night.

Ok, need to finish the coffee & de-Christmas.

    Love, hugs & spoons

    xxx

Yep mine , she is generally tidy but when I go in after she's gone , the bin is overflowing , empty wrappers , cups etc. funnily enough , cleaning it up seems to "help ' me come to terms with her leaving :o

    Morning All
HH - hope you stay dry. How's the knitting going? Make sure you have replied to that Appraisal in writing, I would to know how you can copy things before you are given them. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
As you said head down and keep dodging the bullets, folks like the head often move on fast as they are only using folk to advance themselves.

Knitters and crocheters, wool, £land, Wilkinsons, Boyes if you live northish, for us the local market, as craft work is gaining momentum again i see shops and stalls of wool growing again, Even saw some in a Arthritis charity shop, no price on it though. Also for hooks/needles, cheaper than craft shop. One word of warning not everyone can take to crochet if try became proficient at knitting first, so please don't spend a fortune until you check. As for holding your wool everyone is different, some say wrap the so around the finger of the none hook hand, I just put it over my first finger, sticking it up to make length of thread to put the hook into, you don't wrap it around like knitting, using my middle finger and thumb to hold the crochet, and keeping tension by my third and little finger holding the wool against my palm.

Molly. Really hope 2014 is better for you and your family. As for an untidy room, forget it, do it at your leisure, there is far too much happening in DD's to have time to be a tidy nut. I never was, neither was DS. She is a great help and support to you, just think of that.
Julie. Fingers crossed for the op. Hope you are back mobile soon.
GK :bdaycake: for tomorrow, enjoy your trip.
    Moorhen. How awful ((hugs))
nmic. Printer ink is far cheaper on line.

Bethabee is who you were thinking about Molly strange it was only yesterday I was wondering how she was gong on. If you are lurking, please let us know.

Just realised I didn't mention my activities, so far, spilt some/a lot cereal on the floor, Skye, enjoyed some of it, now browsing on here, will go and make a start on the organising for our trip shortly, starting to feel a bit cool, as the heating has been off a while, usually don't feel it this early, so must be colder out. Had a lovey meal out last night, must try to brave the scales, had pie, but did leave some pastry!! But then had a dessert! It was a payback meal for someone helping us with the caravan. Will re-start diet when arriving back in Spain, always so much easier there.

(((((Hugs))))))), Spoons, etc., to all those who are not up to par, whether posting or lurking, take care everyone. DG
