I would say that this is a borderline offensive statement, and unless you can substantiate it you should be permanently branded a liar. With an actual branding iron.If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -

Landlords were meant to panic and abandon BTL in droves, thus flooding the market with cheap properties.
I doubt Fergus will find it easy to just jack up the rent £300 a month across his portfolio. I doubt he's even doing it.
If it was that easy, he'd have done it already.
It's all bluster to "prove" that the government are doing the "wrong thing".
I realise you are making a point about what others have stated, but in doing so you risk looking like you have lost all reasoning.0 -

That was my initial thought too, how could he raise his rents by so much? Unless my memory is failing me, when I read the actual article (it was some time ago), it only referred to one property's rent (not his entire portfolio), so the headline of the article was misleading.

I must admit that when I read:
Mr Wilson made the revelation after an article in The Guardian stated he is increasing rent at his 900 properties in Kent by a third.
I did think that’s what it was trying to say, until I read further down the page.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Was all about one singular house? You have proved the theory that landlords will sell up, by using one singular rental price increase on one singular house, wrong?
Ok then.
Doesn't everyone else look silly now. :undecided0 -

Here's the Guardian article.
http://www.theguardian.com/money/2015/sep/12/fergus-wilson-rent-rise-property-kent-maidstoneWilson told Guardian Money that when he let a three-bed mid-terrace home in Maidstone, Kent, last weekend, he managed to hike the rent from £900 a month to £1,200. Most of the demand, he says, is from migrants who are willing to pay higher rents than other local residents. He will now be seeking similar rent increases across his property empire.
And quit the forumonics. Please.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

My sincere apologies for responding to and questioning your statement.
On reflection, it was rather rude of me to question the forumonics game you had going on with posters on another website entirely. Clearly they cannot answer back or question you so it was rather rude of me to put you in such a position.
Keep calm and carry on. :cool:0 -

This obviously concerns a singular house, agreed?
This concerns more than one property, correct?
And quit the forumonics. Please.
You're confusing our resident troll, Devon.
This will not end well0 -
