Isn't it one of those "binoculars but with only one eye" things?

It's a sort of miniature telescope for bird watching. Very powerful things and with a good quality one, you can attach a camera to the eyepiece and get very close-up bird shots without having to fork out tens of thousands of pounds for an 800mm lens.

Yep - pretty much what Starnac and Caz said, Greying. We borrowed it last year with a view to deciding whether we wanted to get one for ourselves, but decided that as things stand we'd not get enough use to justify it - so Dad said we could borrow it again this year.

OK - going for a second attempt at a NSD today - there's nothing I can think of that should disrupt it....now there's famous last words! :D

Have already made up the extra half an hour I tagged onto my lunch yesterday when the haircut over-ran, and squidged in another hour last night too. One more tonight and that's the full days hours made up, and a quick count says that I'm already there on the rest of the half-day for Thursday too. :T

A telescope!! That's what I meant by "binoculars with only one eye" :o and :rotfl: at the same time!!!

Yay for hours made up! You have planned so well for this holiday. You should be proud of yourselves. Although it will be quiet here without you

Oi! Starnac! You sayin' I'm NOIZY?! :rotfl::D Cheers for the comment about the planning - the "making up the time" thing is the big thing this year - the extra time I've worked & deciding to do the half day on Thursday amounts to over £170 which makes a big difference to what would usuallyu be a "short" month - and even though I budget my tax/NI so I don't *have* to put something aside for it in May or June, it's nice to have some spare cash rather than be running it tight.

    Today's Updates:

    NDS's - 10 8/10 :)
    Food - 3 x shopping trips needed* 3/3 :j
Food : Meal plan right through the month Yes! Got this week all planned out so DONE! :j
Grocery Budget: No more than £70 spent £57.58/£70 :T :j
Survey Network: Hit £20 threshold and request payout Woo hoo - done! :T :j
OnePoll : make 50p a day average in answered surveys £12.00/£15.50
ISA : get them sorted - [STRIKE]1 new[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]1 for transfer[/STRIKE] 1 new opened and first deposit made. Decision also made about the transfer one - leaving it where it is for now, seeing what interest rates do and possibly shifting in to Nationwide in a while :j
Electricity : Get it changed to new supplier. done - going to Flow Energy - no exit fees so if they're rubbish we'll leave again! :D :j
Tax Return - complete and submit DONE! :j :j
    Extra Hours worked: 10.5/10.5 :j

I'm not quite going to manage OnePoll I don't think - I'm not likely to get another £4 in the next two days, realistically, but for the number of days in the month I'll actually have access to it (22) I've already exceeded my 50p a day target - so that's quite good. I certainly should be able to cash out fairly soon after coming back - and that money will go towards the cash-neutral Hebrides New Year trip, so there's an incentive! :D

    WHAT'S THAT EH???? ;)

£170 isn't something to be sniffed at really is it? :T especially as you've worked it by adding half an hour here and quarter of an hour there. It probably doesn't seem as much compared to say working on your day off to make it up?

And as you have done so well in your May challenges I will allow you a holiday next week ;) :rotfl:
