The process of transferring was really smooth too. Halifax would send me texts during the process so I knew what was happening. Would recommend it.

I confess I closed my ISA and just opened a normal savings account :o I have always just assumed that any amount I had in there would be so small as to make a piffling bit of interest and so wasn't worth the bother :o

Never actually bothered to work it out though! :o

So, yet again, don't do what I do, do what EH does :D :rotfl: :rotfl:

Cheery I was the same for ages, never had more than a couple of hundred pounds in mine. Then I thought I would rather keep my 5p of tax than send it to the government so kept money in my ISA instead - that's why I have an instant access one :D

I'm in a slightly position now as being made redundant a couple of years ago meant I had money in it, so I was getting an extra few pounds by having the better rate. Better in our pockets than theirs ;)

Cheery I reckon Mooo's right - definitely better in my pocket than the tax man's - it annoys the heck out of me that we work, pay taxes, and then anything we save from our pay promptly gets taxed a second time. Infuriating! Maybe try working the maths based on your long term savings pot?

    Today's update :

    NDS's - 10 3/10
    Food - 3 x shopping trips needed* 2/3
Food : Meal plan right through the month Doing well with this at the moment
Grocery Budget: No more than £70 spent £45.89/£70
Survey Network: Hit £20 threshold and request payout
OnePoll : make 50p a day average in answered surveys £6.60/£15.50
ISA : get them sorted - [STRIKE]1 new[/STRIKE], 1 for transfer 1 new opened and first deposit made
Electricity : Get it changed to new supplier. done - going to Flow Energy - no exit fees so if they're rubbish we'll leave again! :D
Tax Return - complete and submit DONE! :j
    Extra Hours worked: 3.5/10

Today is not a NSD - the shopping, for a start, and I also spent £6 booking MrEH a coach across from London to Bristol - we're camping over that way for the weekend, on the Saturday I'm going to Weston-Super-Mare for an airshow, and MrEH is going to explore Cheddar Gorge and that area I think, and on Sunday we're coming back via one of my very best friends who I've not seen in an age, so that'll be good! Also trying to arrange a meet-up with another pal in Bristol on the Friday. :D I'll take the car over, and then he'll get to Bristol shortly after 9pm, so that'll work well. :T

You are coming so close to me and you'll be so busy. That's a shame. :( sounds like you'll have a lovely time though.

I agree with the ISA issue. Like you said why should we pay tax a 2nd time?? It's wrong!

You could always bring DD through to Weston so she can see that the Red Arrows really DO exist! :D
