Hi there
Quackers....OMG...i thought my hubbies mum had invented the tomatoes with cheese in....the first time hubby did it i was sooo close to being ill:o ....
It was a new one on me, affraid i cant get my heat round that combo..but hubby loves it....
Now i know its not exactly healthy...but dripping on toast...mmmm
how about cheese triangles???
Must admit im a bit of an odd bod....cant do beans etc on toast..have to have my beans in a bowl...cant stand the thought of soggy toast... still hubby reckons im odd anyway... i cant stand anything sloppy on toast, biscuits dunked in tea eughhhh.... bread being dunked in soup..... oh and if i have a cooked brekkie i have to build barriers..beans have to be at one end of my plate (using sausgaes to stop them escaping) and my egg has to go on a slice of toast at the other side of my plate -and if the yolk escapes onto my plate i cant eat my brekkie...bet you didnt know eating brekkie could be such a mine field:rotfl: :rotfl:...still... cheese triangle on toast are nice and safe :T :T

Mrsmcawber, I'm the same as you, although I don't mind bread in soup, and if I have beans I make sure OH has loads of sauce and I mainly have beans on one half of the plate, toast on the other.
Funny how we all have our little methods eh? I'm like it with most dry foods-bread, chips etc.

We like cheese and pineapple - I split and toast muffins and top each one with a pineapple ring and then grated cheese and grill till the cheese is bubbling. We also have cheesy tuna - grated cheese mixed with tuna and a few snipped chives - that is really lovely, and I like (but the kids won't touch) chopped hard boiled egg mixed with grated cheese spread on toast and then heated under the grill until brown and bubbly.Jane

I got into the habit of slicing mushrooms and frying off in soy sauce on granry toast. thats pretty nice . Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Welsh rarebit is a nice change from cheese on toast, and tuna melt is yummy.
I put tuna with mayo & chopped spring onion onto toast, then top with grated cheese & pop it back under the grill.
We also like chestnut mushrooms, gently fried with lots of garlic, butter & parsley on thick toast.0 -
Slice a couple of tomatoes onto a large plate, drizzle a tablespoon or so of Balsamic Vinegar over them, cover with slices of cheese and then microwave for a couple of minutes. Scrape this mixture onto a couple of slices of granary toast and eat! Looks a total mess but tastes scrummy!

I often make a huge oven tray full of roasted veg - ie courgettes, tomato's, aubergine, garlic, onions, peppers etc (combo of any of these) and then refrigerate them for use later in the week. These are delicious with a sprinkling of cheese for a toast topping. Other uses include: whisk with tinned tomato for a Pizza topping sauce, veggie curry, ratatouille or just a veg accompanyment,.0

As well as most of the above, i love tinned salmon (de-boned, mixed with a tiny bit of vinegar) on toast. Yum! x0
