Lushlifesaver - now for some baby pics :rotfl: hurry up baby lush
Hehe hopefully she doesn't drag her feet! Both me and her dad were early and she's waited longer than I did already :-)
Surprised at myself as I'm on leave (technically annual leave not mat leave until Monday) and yet I've already put a load of laundry through and got it out to dry, straightened the kitchen and bedrooms and done all of the ironing (no easy feet as I've only done the odd T-shirt here and there since November!)
Must think about lunch and then make bf decide about tea when I speak to him :-)
Need to think about bfs wraps as well as I can't find wholemeal wraps in our little town at all which means I will need to go to a 'proper' supermarket at some point tomorrow...will have to practice self restraint!************************************

I'm not quite back yet from my honeymoon, but my husband is napping just now in preparation for our 24 hours of travelling starting soon (12 hour flight from Tokyo to Dubai, then a short break, then an 8 hour flight from Dubai ), so thought I'd pop on to catch up as I have wifi.
I won't be joining this thread officially but will be back for the April one. I have caught up with the posts though and will be posting though and do also have a list of page numbers for recipes added so I'll get those on the index once I'm back to a proper computer
The wedding was just the most amazing day and the honeymoon has been fantastic - sad that it's time to go back home but am really looking forward to cooking again! Hope no one minds as it's a bit off topic but I've popped a couple of pics from the big day below in case anyone's interested, just taken on friends camera phonesDecluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Afternoon All.
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I will ask the question anyway. I meal plan - and we almost always stick to it, sometimes I move stuff around in the week but that doesn't cause us any problems.
I was wondering if I try and do too many 'big' meals, and if maybe I could pull back some saving on food if I planned different meals in.
I shop on a Thursday so I meal plan Thursday - Thursday. If I post the one we have at the moment I would apperciate any pointers/tips, thanks :-
Thurs - Fishfingers, chips and beans
Fri - Sausage, vegtables and mashed potatoe
Sat - Picked up a chinese with small lotto win for a treat (otherwise would of been beef burgers)
Sun - Beef sunday dinner, we then don't have tea just a small snack of fruit.
Mon - Beef pie & homemade chips made with yesterdays leftovers
Tues - Chicken wrapped in bacon with veg & mash
Wed - Breaded fish with new potatoes and peas
Thurs - stew & dumplings - undecided on beef or chicken yet have both meats in freezer
There is just me and my OH. He is a lorry driver and is usually up at 4.30am and as a genral rule of thumb doesn't get back down home until 7-8pm. It is the family business and they wait for all the drivers to turn back in - or most of them - and sort any problems ect. For his lunch he takes 3 x sandwichs, 1 x banana, 2 x nutrigrain raisin bars, 2 x small choc bars (similar size to club choc bars ect..). We don't have massive portions as we are both weight/health concious and reasonaly slim but I always seem to plan in filling/hefty meals so that he is filled up. - Contray to most lorry drivers he is 6ft 2'' and slim built and plans staying this way not getting a trucker belly :rotfl:
For work I have 1 x sandwich or bowl of soup / 2-3 x fruit / 1 x small pack raisins / 1 x aplen trail bar
Sorry this is quite a babbling post, but any pointers on my meal plan or if I am about bob on and it's just me whittling please sayChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Hi all,
Just went to Tesco with my list. Only additional bits were some bananas and an individual hazelnut yoghurt for me - not too good with yoghurt but thought I'd try this one out.
Whilst shopping I picked up an unsmoked gammon joint 1.3kg which was priced at £4 on the shelf. The smoked same size joint was £6. Lo and behold it went through the till at £6 so I double-checked the shelf then got DTD back at customer services. Net result - a joint for £2
Had to get dog food - £9.89 after a coupon, plus dishwasher salt, plus bits for the week. Total was £40.75 after DTD and coupon plus I've got a coupon for £4.31 off my next shop.
Mealplan for this week:
Tonight - roasted gammon, cauli cheese, green beans
Tuesday -chicken and chorizo pasta
Wednesday - sausages, mash and broccoli
Thursday - spaghetti bolognaise
Friday - battered haddock, chips, peas and sweetcorn
Only £47 left until the end of the month

Congratulations Bluegreen143!
I've had a NSD today after an expensive weekend away. MIL gave me enough bread for Hubbs' lunches this week, and I have a meat delivery tomorrow. We might be able to get through the week buying only milk and a few fresh veggies.Swagbucks Amazon gift vouchers 2014 125/250

Just had a successful YS shop in Morrisons. I like to make most of my dinners from scratch but do generally keep the odd processed item in for lazy / rush nights! In fact, you can tell how often I buy 'stuff' like that, DD1 (age 10) has just come in, spotted dinner and shrieked, with disgust, 'you've bought a ready made dinner?' :rotfl:Yes, I have and more ironing will be done thanks to my ready made dinner!
Anyhow, I digress! I went for grated cheddar but came away with £32.44 worth of items for £19.68!
I managed to get .....
12 Cumberland sausage rolls
4 Ginsters Ploughmans sausage rolls
30 cocktail sausages
Hot & spicy chicken
Grated cheddar
A swede
6 Chicken spring rolls
A Chicken, ham & leek pie
A bottle of squash
3 Leeks
and tonight's tea, Chilli Beef Pasta Bake
and that all came to £14.69. Then the previous customer had left a £1.50 off £20 spend voucher on the 'serve yourself till'! Bonus! So, I grabbed myself a bottle of wine to take me over the £20. :T2017 GC O-£93.46/£160; S-£136.26/£160; A-£130.55/£160; J-£47.12/£160;

Sorry, haven't had a chance to post in AGES, feel terrible especially as one of my NY resolutions was to keep the GC updated -.-
Will come back later once I've found the rest of my receipts, but yesterday I spent £32.65 in Ald! and £2.19 in L!dl (no half price pork mince in my local, booo).
Made sort-of-mojitos yesterday (to celebrate the gorgeous weather!) using coconut rum (£4.99 for 700ml), lemon juice (from a bottle), basics lemonade, sugar and mint leaves. I think it came out as ~50p a glass, so pretty MSE!November GC: £50.55/£130. October GC: £72.60/£150
