Please put me down for £160 for the month.
My husband and I are finding it hard to stick to our budget, so this'll be good motivation for us!

Sticking to £250 for March, starting from Saturday but as we are away for most of April, I want this budget to last until 8th April so about 6 and a half weeks:eek:

I think this is doable as my cupboards and freezer are by no means empty and I would like to run them right down prior to our holiday.

Just had a first attempt at popping my own popcorn, wanted a way to be able to make a low fat snack for me and a cheap snack for the kids. A tiny amount of corn made a huge panful so quite impressed with that and definitely better than crisps both for my pocket and waistline!

Right - having been through the post Xmas month of pain, new start for 2014 starts now (2nd pay of the year is due next week).

Month runs from 25th to 25th so from 25/2 I'd like to aim for £400, with the aim of reducing this over the course of the next 12 months significantly. I'm realistic and know we wont be able to drop significantly in the first month, so lets see where get to in the next few months! Feeding myself, wife and 2 girls (8 & 5)

Tend to buy online shopping as I always find it more effective as I can easily check the cupboards. I have the asda grocery saver (£15 for 3 months) unlimited deliveries so should I declare £5 every month in my totals?

Please can you put me down for £200 to include everything except booze and eating out for 2 adults, 1 small child and a little dog.

I am planning on using up a fair bit of my freezer contents this month.

Thanks for the new thread Zippychick. I will go for £190 this month please. The challenge has been so helpful to keep me focused during February and I have actually quite enjoyed being creative with my ingredients.

    Hi everyone
I desperately need to give myself a kick up the backside and to re join this challenge. I used to take part about 18 months age and ive been doing ok but since December I haven't tracked any spends at all, my budget was always around £240 for myself, OH and 2dd's. As ive not been tracking I sat down last night and added all of my grocery spends from my online account and for the last 28 days it totalled £381!!!!!!! and that doesn't include any cash spends. Not happy at all but it's totally my own fault and I know I can turn it around.
I can't start the challenge til next Wednesday as thats when OH gets paid but my budget will be £250.00 (I can keep a tally myself)

Thanks for the shiny new post. Not sure yet if I'll quite come in within budget for February (first month) but sure it is doable but also a challenge so going to stick with £260 budget for March.

Not been tracking my spends for ages! :o
DD1 is now on a health kick, so we eat mainly chicken fillets (coz she doesn't like bones-neither do her sisters) and lots of fresh veg and fruit.
I think it's costing a fortune. It would be so much cheaper to buy a whole chicken than boneless chicken breasts all the time!
    Right, rant over.
    £400 for me for march.
Open to suggestions with the chicken and no bones etc. TIA.
