Hi, can I join in please? Realised I needed to do something about grocery spends when I worked out last month that I had spent in a week and a half what I thought we were spending per month
Can I go with £250 for the month please. This goes from 21st Feb - 20th March. There's me, DH, DS and 11mth old DD and this will be for all food, toiletries, nappies, wipes and baby milk (for the next month then onto cows milk) and any wine/beer/takeaways. I would be over the moon to do it for less, but whilst little lady is costing so much I'm not sure I can. Any savings will be thrown at the cc's though so fingers crossed.
I'm still only half way through reading the Feb GC but will plough on as its so motivating.

Can't wait to start!!!!0 -
Thank you for the new thread Zippy
This is the month I go on Maternity Leave! Eep! With that in mind I would like to set a budget of £120 all in - will break this down in to:
£80 - 'pure' grocery/food spends
£20 - Makro/bulk/offer kitty (to be withdrawn and stashed in cash after payday)
£15 - toiletries kitty
£5 - dog supplies kitty (to be withdrawn and stashed in cash after payday)
We shouldn't need any toiletries really - will need to get Lynx sprays for bf and he may need hair gel. other than that should just be toothpaste - Not sure whether to stash it away and roll any surplus over to next month OR spend it and stock up pre baby. What do some of you lovely people do?
With regards to the grocery shopping; I'm thinking of doing an order with Mr M now that he delivers in our neck of the woods - anyone had any experience with them yet? Minimum order is £40 but with delivery available from just £1 I think it could be a good way to stock up on some items without having to brave the supermarket/drag bf to one
Then I would just pick up fresh bits as an when - e.g. fruit and veg from the market etc...so maybe allocate £50 to an order with Mr M, £10 to popping in store to grab a few bits they don't yet stock online and £20 for fruit and veggies...hmm definite food for thought there!************************************

Thanks for starting the thread. Please put me down for £200 again for March please as its a bit longer month so although I am likely to come in under budget for February it may not be so easy in March. (I am also budgeting another £100 for personal spends and this is where I spectacularly (sp) fail).Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0
