    £4.66 spent yesterday on milk, bread x 2 loaves, crumpets, bananas and eggs. I had a £2 Asda gift card from the last time they overcharged me so that paid for the eggs :D

    £4.66/£180.

    Went into town this morning and did a Big Shop - Aldi, Lidl, some frozen veggies from Farm Foods and some fresh from the farm shop, along with a sack of potatoes. Had a look at the seed potatoes and wondered whether to pick some up to grow in the garden. We have decided that the cost of any seeds etc. are going to have to come out of the food budget (as they are technically going to be food!) so not so sure if we can afford them this month - will maybe wait another week or two to see how much money is left.

    Anyway, Big Shop totted up to £90.60 and the cupboards and freezers are now very full. I'm supposed to be clearing the chest freezer to sell, but it's now full again:o Still, we will be able to eat out of it for the next few weeks!

    I've got to go into town again tonight so I'll pop into Sainsbobs and see if they have anything exciting yellow stickered. Whilst playing Freezer-Tetris I found some chilli cheese that had been a YS buy over Christmas that I had grated and then forgot about, so for dinner I'm going to throw some defrosted cooked kidney beads into the slowcooker with some garlic, onion, tinned tomatoes and a bag of frozen sweetcorn and have it for dinner tonight with the cheese stirred in and some rice.....looking forward to dinner:D:D:D

  • Hi folks, not posted on here for a while. I made the Lemon curd cake from the recipe index last week and it was a big hit. I will definitely make it again. I use value lemon curd which had been sitting in the cupboard and needed used up.

    I am going to challenge myself this week to not have any takeaways at all. I have been quite bad recently and allowed that habit to creep back in.

    We are well stocked up for food this week so no more spends planned for this week at all.
  • Went out at lunch and bought;

    4pints milk @ £1
    sliced coloured cheddar and sliced smoked cheese on 2 for £3
    smoked bacon (10 rashers) £2
    packet of chocs for bf as he got injured at the weekend! £1

    total of £7 added to signature :)

    I have done my first shopping of the month today. A trip to Morrs and Lild

    Grocery spend £19.07
    Personal spend £2.28

    They were just bits and pieces that we needed. The cupboard is quite full and the freezer is quarter full. Will probably go to market and stock up on chicken and meat sometime this week.
