My butchers were closed so i nipped into co op and ended up with half price leg of pork/
I now know why I never had pork as a child (my Dad doesnt like it) and neither do I, I ended up having a vegetarian sunday dinner, all went in bin, and my house still stinks from it!!
here are the pics (minus the gravy)
£10.00 spend today for DS school dinners.
Going to have a baking day today, maybe stew for tea (roasting the small beef from mr A) and will make a few pies for tomorrow and some for freezer, pics to follow

  • Finally caught up with the thread! Three NSDs over the weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) which is good - need milk and will also need smoked cheese and bacon later in the week.

But frustrated that we had a take away last night as bf wanted to grab something on the way home from the tournament and then as we have antenatal tonight we don't have time to cook before the session and afterwards I will be going straight to bed so tonight we will be eating out as well. Luckily that's not my budget! Paid for tea last night as I had plenty left from my tournament budget (got money back for the extra room I had to pay for and only spent £23 of my £50 budget for the weekend!) and bf will be paying tonight :-)

Must go to the bank on my lunch break today to pay a cheque in so will get the milk, smoked cheese and bacon whilst in town. Think I will try one of the frozen food shops for milk and bacon and probably get the cheese from Mr M's as I am yet to find sliced smoked cheese anywhere other than the big supermarkets!

Another NSD yesterday and again today (apart from dentist this afternoon with comes from another budget) so now at 8/15 - think I may manage more again this month. Will think about upping the number of NSDs I'm going to try to do this month.

Will need to do a small shop tomorrow - only a couple of things on the list at the moment but know I'll need some more milk as well.

  • Hi,
Can I join in for February please.
I've kept a bit of a record on January spending and it was £314 plus a few bits I think DH bought while he was away.

As a start for Feb I'd like to get it below £300 and then work from there. DH already spent £50 yesterday while I was away (and I have no idea what he bought as I can't see anything!) so not a great start but it is a short month so I'm hopeful. :D

£1.60 on milk this morning - DS decided to pour nearly a pint of it on his weetabix (the bowl was brimming) so it was an emergency trip to the local PO for their overpriced milk! Grrrr

Hi everyone...I am in again for Feb with a budget of £175 for two adults and a toddler - to include everything from the supermarket except nappies.

First spend was done on 1st Feb and was a lot higher than it should have been - the pitfalls of the post-payday-shop! Still, it's a short month so we should be ok - most of the extra was extra fruit. As long as we eat all of it, I don't mind.

  • Hello all, can I join the challenge this month please. I only started tracking my spends last month and came in under budget so would like to do better this month. My budget is £250 starting 5th February and am hoping that posting my spends on here will keep me on track

  • Setting my budget at £150 this month - we were well under last month (~£110/£180) and I'm away for two weeks in Feb on company expenses, so should be even less but I think my OH might spend more than I usually do when I'm away!

My first spend of Feb was 95p on a cute box of tissues from Wilk0s, and going to do a big shop tonight at L!dl as I have a £5 off £40 spend voucher from the Sun.
