    Hi everyone,

    Budgets updated to here :)

    Welcome/welcome back to:
mfwin2019, Ayeshalush, becsxxx, GettingOrganised, Ches, FurryBeastOz and ruby_eskimo :D

    Good luck all.

We had OH's family round for tea and cake today. DS2 and DS1's birthdays are a week apart, so good to combine celebrating the two :money: In past years I have done a full buffet, but this year we decided to do just tea/coffee and cake.

    I made:
Lemon drizzle loaf and Banana rum and sultana loaf - both Nigella
Strawberry milkshake cupcakes and Pecan, cinnamon and sugar twists - both Hummingbird Bakery
    Rocky Road - own recipe

All went down very well. No alcohol served, so no rows (unlike last time we were all together :().

On the downside, they didn't leave until gone 6pm so our planned dinner of roast pork and all the trimmings will have to wait until tomorrow. Instead we had Dominoes  but we are allowing ourselves one takeaway per month, so that is it for this month.

Off to update sig. Have a good evening all.

Spent a whopping £86.22/£400 so far thanks to frivolous grocery shopping without lists. Tut tut. Will be reigning that in! Sadly not that much to show for it either, we are out for dinner tomorrow (this is under a different budget) so hoping to not have to go for anything but milk & cereal til weekend.

  • This thread has suddenly become a lot busier since I was last here on Thursday. I think I have finally caught up and can therefore update on my spends from the weekend.

    Mr Al £12.47
    Mr S £0.86
    Mr W £3.55
    Mr Q £1.09

Whilst in Mr W I managed to pick up some randomly reduced boy's pants. Got myself a pack of five for £1.15. Now I just have to persuade my 3 year old DS to wear them. :rotfl:

This should just about see us through until next weekend. I may need to do the odd top up shop of milk etc but that's about all.

I've also decided to amend my month end to the 13/02 as I have realised that i will get paid on the 14th with February being a short month.
    GC: Feb (16th Jan - 15th Feb) £46.25 / £50 :)
    Mar (16th Feb - 15th Mar) £61.96 / £70

I tend to plan all meals - works for me. For instance - if I have LO roast potatoes - lunch next day can be those fried off with egg/toast + whatever I have in - mushrooms/tomatoes or baked beans.
I have planned my menu for the month using my stock list of the chest freezer. I want to run the freezer down a bit plus I don't spend much this way.
Mr F was meant to get breaded chicken out of the freezer - it turned out to be fish. So we had breaded fish + HM wedges + leeks + carrots for dinner.

Having a few probs with p.c. tonight.
NSD #2 and we had Minced beef plate pie, cabbage, kale, carrots and mash for today followed by some slow cooked rice pudding with fruit added to it. Really enjoyed it and the pastry was a success (I have varying comments on my pastry from good to bad) Made it in the food processor and will do so again in future.

Just enough left for tomorrow for the two of us and did mum a small one to take home along with some rice pud.
