Hey ho woteva0 -
I went to Tescos and spent £18. I thought I would get everything I needed for next week but I could not bring myself to buy their fruit, veg and salad which were very expensive in comparison to lidl and aldi. Will pop to one of them over the weekend to get everything I didn't get today.
I think I will be well under budget and will keep to this method in March.0 -

My month starts around the 26th of the month so I hope I can work out a sensible target ready to start the March challenge on Monday.
Thanks ladies, looking forward to March. :beer:I think everyone has to find their own level of spend - it's not meant to be a competition but to help all of us to eat and spend more sensibly.
Good luck and I'm sure you will find the same as I have that there's loads of help and support on this thread :T

NSD for me today
Ran out of time for breakfast but had some yoghurt at work. Lamb mince thing for lunch. I made a big batch last night - curry, spices, prunes, tinned toms. I was planning to add some mashed potato but they were off:(
Also cooked up some sausages last night so will have that for dinner tonight with some ultra-cheap cabbage I bought last week.
I still have loads in the freezer and cupboards so hoping for a tiny spend on veg to get me through next week before I move on to March. This is the first time I've done it in fortnights (get paid on the 15th but wanted to sync up with everyone on the calendar months). So far it's working well - much easier to get my head around planning for two weeks than my usual month. I might try doing a two-week menu plan too (or maybe even a whole month).March 2020 grocery challenge $921.76/$500AU

Well.... 30p left in the dish!! HOWEVER, DH got a lovely £100 bonus so he took little one to cinema. Used money from dish to pay for sweets/popcorn. Also have bought bread/milk and a few bits from Sainsbobs.
Can confirm i shall deffo be thrashing my budget! DH and I agreed that we should use the money to do a good shop. We have gone through so much this week with half term, and my wages will half from next month (on a permanent basis), so it would make sense to get ahead with food now to help take the strain next month while we work on new budgets ect. So i will be going to the shops tonight and stocking up on tins/freezer stuff. Plan to go to Al*i and Ic*land to get best value for my money. Will go through my freezer today and write down what i actually have in there, and see how much space i have. Tin cupboard is about half full so thats good. Fridge is EMPTY though! I have milk, marg, jam, cauli and a few yoghurts. But its half term so kids have been eating lots.
I'm rambling.... Of to write a shopping list

Grocery challenge 2017 JAN: £5.56/£3500 -
Went to the sm last night and spent £6.50 which brings my spending up to £155.56.
£14.44 remaining until the 28th, but we only got 8 days to go and the week looks rosy!
This amount will be needed for at least 4pints Milk (£1), fruit and veg and maybe 1 loaf of bread.
It would be nice to come a few pence under!!0 -
It's ages since I've posted, don't seem to have the time at the moment.
However Feb is going ok spent 102.99 out of a budget of £125 and I shouldn't need anything until the end of the month. I've had to be quite creative, I've tried to use stuff from the cupboards and freezers. It would be good to empty one of the freezers, give it a jolly good clean and restock with any money I have saved.
My budget should be £250 per month but if I restrict myself to £125 per month it gives me a goal to try and achieve and also saves money to restock. I have saved 152.29 since the beginning of Jan so that's half a pig with a bit over.0
