I have already spent a quarter of my budget in 2 days :eek::eek:
I am not going to go shopping at all this weekend and I'm busy doing my meal plan now. I knew I would have to do a stock up shop as I had ran everything down so much but it is still a worry to spend that much£36/£240

Is there anyone who can help me with a recipe please.
I bought some salmon in the hope of making it into a dish that I had over Christmas that was lovely.
Oven baked salmon in a cheese, white wine and mustard sauce.
It was lovely, but I cannot recreate the recipe. I had it in a pub many miles from home, so wont be able to get a recipe. I cant find anything on the internet either.
Any one else had anything like this?
Thanks in advance0 -

I did most of the shopping for the month yesterday so will only have to do top up shops and dog food which can be expensive as my girls are gluten free(one dog has a really sensitive stomach ). freezer is still pretty full with meals from last month i usually spent between 150-200 in December in went totally out the window

I had a last minute day off work yesterday so used it to visit the butchers, mr t and £ world to get some bits in for Feb although it doesn't officially start until Monday.
£22.52 which seems a big chunk of my £200 budget but includes 2kg chicken breasts, steak mince and GF stock cubes x 4 (selling them off half price even though dated til 2015) GF cereal(£1 off a box) and GF bagels (half price). I don't normally go in £world as it is in the shopping centre I rarely visit but was impressed with the prices/range.
Off out for tea tonight and mums tomorrow so hopefully no spending until middle of next week when I do my aldi shop.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -

Hi JIL,
I recall a recipe of baked salmon with a crust served with a white wine and cream sauce with Dijon mustard in the sauce. The crust was a mix of mayo and lemon juice combined with grated parmesan and cayenne or chilli to season and then topped with crushed salty (Ritz or Tuc-like) crackers baked for 20 mins and then topped with the sauce. PM me if this sounds right and I'll look it out and post it later (off out now)
SLSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Thankyou for this, it didnt have a crust on it, but had some kind of melted cheese (which I did not think would go with salmon but was lovely) I would love your recipe though. I could try adding some cheese to the sauce.
I will keep on topic on this thread. So my small budget this month wont start til 1st of Feb but I am making preparations already.
I have two freezers but hate going in them as they are so full. I intend to look through them, this afternoon and get them organised and meal plan for the month of Feb.
The food to be eaten in Feb will be moved to the most accessible part and used.
I will get the OH to do the shopping as he always sticks to a list. The lists will only be milk, salad, fruit and veg and anything that HAS to be replaced.0 -
Hi, I am going to switch to monthly budget. Please put me down for £150 for February. Thanks.0

big spend to report, £118 Mr T delivered yesterday and £22 spent today in Ald! on the things I just wouldn't pay Mr T prices for (fruit, veg, loo rolls etc). Shouldn't need anything else for at least 7 days and then should only be bread / milk / fruit0
