So I went a bit AWOL in January and as a result spent nearly double my budget
So for February I am going to go back to weekly to get a handle on our spending.
So can I be put in for £75 per week
My first week will start 3rd Feb so will see you all then.0 -
I'm not starting February's GC until Friday when I get paid. But, seeing how well I've done for January (fingers crossed no hic-ups between now and Friday!), I'd like to drop my budget from £350 to £300 :j

Hi, not declaring January yet as may be a bit more (we always run out of milk!) but for February please can you put me down for £350. I've been throwing out food which I've not used (big slapped wrists) so from February going to write down the cost of what I've wasted which I hope will get me out of this habit.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0

Have a Chinese New Year dinner party planned and meat and beer to buy for Feb 7th, so don't want to leave us tight later in the month

I have £21.77 (out of £180) left until the 12th Feb's pay day and the beginning of my new month.
Spent £9.36 over the week on fresh veg, fruit, milk and a few rolls for hubby. Seems like my weekly fresh top up shop spend comes in under £10 if I'm careful.
Everything else meal wise, cleaning etc is on track in the freezer, cupboards etc and I think I'll make it to my target of £180 this month.
The whole eating less meat project is working out well, we're enjoying the variety and my experimentations lol
The cats are still hounding us for sachets & tins bless em'...We are now measuring out the correct quantity of dry food for them and I swear fat-cat has lost weight.
I'm not sure when I should "declare" the end of my month?
Oh no I think I've posted in wrong thread..!!0 -
£32.62 spent in Lidl today. We did a bit of a stock up shop as we have run the freezer down and also needed stuff like dishwasher tabs and loo roll.
Dinner tonight and tomorrow will be cold meat with salad and chips.
I am trying out the Lemon Curd Cake recipe from the index today. This will be cut into slices and used for snacks to take to work. I am hoping it works out as well as some of the other recipes I have tried from the index - the HM coleslaw is fantastic so we have made it several times now.0 -

I can't believe how fantastic and inexpensive homemade coleslaw is - a whole white cabbage nearly lasts us a month.
You can have it fine cut or chunky with all sorts added such as cheese or apples n' sultanas, or spicy.
I like to add yogurt or creme fraiche to lite-mayo for the dressing. An addition of mustard or even just mixing it in a vinaigrette dressing is really nice too.
Cannot ever imagine buying horrible shop bought coleslaw ever again!
Definitely a money-saving dish.0 -
Hi
Can i join? My month runs from 19th to the 19th so ive already started feb... and nearly blown my budget!!
Im aiming for under £150... but already at £101... did have to buy items that last me ages like washing up liquid and clothes washing tablets bleach etc...these usually last me two months..did buy 2 bottles of washing up and bleach etc as was on offer
But there is me... and a greedy fussy cat so i need to do better.. this month is going to be a bit of a trial.. but we will see if i can cope with less than £50 to spend for the rest of the month.... Can you freeze HM coleslaw then?
I'm still wrapping up January but can you put me down for £290 please? I've gone over budget this month but there's less bulk buying needed for February, I've a couple meals in the freezer, no meals out planned and it's a 28 day month so hope it will be a bit easier.0
