Back from Asda on a YS hunt as our local store was closing down and our new one opening on Monday got some great bargains, spent l5.00
but all at about 75% off, but am sitting here shaking, injured and upset at the behaviour of a minority of people, it started off orderly and friendly, people waiting their turn, people responding to a request "pass me one of those please" but the it turned nasty people shoving and using trollys like battering rams, I put out a hand to deflect a trolly crashing into a pregnant woman beside me and lost half a thumb nail,
Its bloody sore and I find it scarey what will these kind of people do
    if theres a real crisis.

Sorry .I have posted before that I am nervous of a scrum at the YS
but todays experience has absolutely floored me.

Know how you feel. I had to get myself of the one in morrisons.. it wasnt worth the savings.. i was shoved and pushed by people twice my size...

  • Higher spend this week than the last two weeks. But, that was to be expected as I've run out of almost all store cupboard staples and quite a few cleaning products needed too. I think I should still come within budget, but I'm glad February is a short month!

  • Thanks so much for all your kind wishes, it really does mean a lot.

Billie-jo I am so sorry for your loss, my condolences.

Katkin Thanks for the recipes, I have tried the washing liquid in the past and it is very good, but I am keen to try the hand soap, and as I have all the ingred on hand it will be on my todo list for the week.

OH had a very successful day he and his 3 mates caught 9 tuna, so spent hours prepping for the freezer and had tuna cappacio for last nights dinner, delicious.

However he was out all day, so instead of blackberrying I harvested lots of veg from the gardens and made the first batch of picallili for the season. Just starting to feel a little like autumn now, although it has not been a very good summer with lots of wind.

Going down the coast today, mother is coming for a visit, so am frantically doing deep cleaning in the house, better get back to it
    Cheers

  • A bit late but please can I join?

I haven't done a grocery challenge for a few years but think I spend too much on groceries!

My month started on the 10th, pay day.

    I will go for £200

I've had Mr W delivered today £60, hoping that with what's in the freezer will do a good week, we always run out of bread, milk and cereal have no where to store more!
    new challenge?

The for period 14th Feb - 14th Mar the aim is to spend £240 again, especially as it's an amount that seems to be working for us now :)
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!
