Not been on for a few weeks and my de-cluttering work is becoming undone. Also, the pile I made to sell on ebay still has not gone on yet, so I am setting myself a target and will have it on by Sunday!!
I give permission to have my bottom kicked if I haven't. Will read back through as I am sure you have all been doing fabulous work and will motivate me along again.
Luckily not anywhere near as bad as it was before, just need keep on top of it!

We've had 2 new wooden panelled doors taking up room on our landing. This evening DH got rid of the manky old doors that were on our kitchen and living room and has replaced them with these lovely new doors. He's an Explorer Scouts leader and has taken them tonight for the Explorers to throw knives at so I bet they've had a grand old time!

  • Not been on here for a while. My decluttering progress has slowed, partly because I am running out of things to declutter (well, I think I am, I am sure I could be more ruthless .... !).

So all I have to declare is :-

    116. Book - CS
    117. Papers - shredded/recycled as appropriate

I haven't yet got my spring/summer clothes out, and I know there are a few bits in there that never got worn last year, so hopefully next time I post I'll have a longer list!

I'm a very tidy person, and what I've found is that I have a lot of useless, old paperwork neatly filed away - the kind of thing that could have been disposed of after a refund was received, for example. But I have it going back a couple of years :o I'm learning a lot about myself, with this decluttering malarkey, so hopefully I won't be holding on to bits of paper for too long any more .... !
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

    Since last post:

4 manky wooden spoons, spatulas etc binned (and I promise not to put the replacements in the dishwasher)
3 items into the new CS bag
    Broke a glass!

Re-purposed a fleece blanket into an ironing board cover. Mended two items of clothing.

I couldn't agree more! Though clearing through my sentimental items highlighted to me that I had a real hoard of negative emotions associated with so much of & really do feel so much happier now it's gone. Keeping the positive is the way forward for me!
    Hugs for all x:D:p;)

  • Did a de-clutter of the garden shed yesterday & following items taken to the tip:
bit of a carpet that was on the floor
2 bits of garden equipment (a grass seeder thing & something else that I have no idea what it was used for in the garden)
    1 parasol/umbrella
    Broken/past it bamboo canes
    1 garden sprinkler
Part of a black bag filled up with sweeping up shed floor & rubbish taken from shelves
1 broken/rusted metal brush pole & brush head

1 kitchen bin (in garage), also taken to tip

2 packs of unused bamboo canes given to neighbour. They'll use them when growing their tomatoes

But, when I was at the tip. I did take home a perfectly fine fake rose bush about 4 1/2 - 5 feet high. And very sturdy as well. Which someone had taken there earlier on in the day. The guys who worked there said it was fine to take when I asked them, as if no-one did, it was going to get turfed into one of the tip containers.

I have just spent 2 hours in the garden dealing with the weed and cutting back some bushes. The garden bin is nearly full now. Yesterday I sorted out a pile of paperwork and most got shredded. Shredded a pile of receipts earlier today including receipts from Christmas last year.

I feel fairly pleased with my progress this weekend.

Good luck to you all with this challenge.

I spent 30 minutes last night tidying up our sideboard, paperwork got shredded and various pieces thrown away. Also, OH sorted out the paperwork on the kitchen table and it feels great to have a tidy kitchen table again. One form was posted today.

Hopefully I will do a bit more decluttering over the weekend.
