Not much success in decluttering or being MSE today I'm afraid. Made a long overdue trip to shops with kids. Came back with new school shoes for DS, new 'non-school' shoes for DD, new dress, skirt and trousers for DD. But also have a lovely lunch out and came in under £90 so could have been much worse I guess.

Definitely more 'ins' than 'outs' today but on the decluttering front DS's old school shoes have gone straight in to 'ragbag' bag for recycling :A

Off to swimming lessons shortly but do need to spend some more time in the study this evening as DH's work colleague will be spending some time here next week  Currently lots of my ebaying bits in there and all sort of piles of 'stuff' waiting to be sorted out and a huge shredding pile too.

I will aim to clear out the under-stair cupboard this evening and get the ebay bits in there. Then do the shredding and make a list of the extra files/storage bits that I need in order to get the rest tidied up. I am meeting my sister for lunch in town tomorrow so if I have a list, there's no excuse for not buying the necessary and getting it cleared.

Had a busy day so didn't start de-cluttering :( I have managed to sort my change cupcake out and will be taking a couple of pounds in 2&1pences to the bank tomorrow, but found I still had £32 which is stopping in there towards my car tax (saw this on someone's signature who is adding weekly and thought what a good idea so started too!!) Tomorrow I am hoping to de-clutter the wardrobe and chest of drawers, wondering how many clothes I will have that I don't wear!!

  • Probably doesn't count as decluttering, but I have been ruthless today in deciding what to send back out of some online sales clothes shopping I did. If it doesn't make me excited about wearing it (as well as fitting right, going with stuff in my wardrobe etc...), then it's going back. Free returns too, so haven't lost out by trying. So I'm keeping a work jacket, a pair of trousers and a scarf - nothing else. Nothing else needed until I do my winter/summer wardrobe swap over, when I will look at what else I might need.
  • Had a GOOD day! I have moved half the kids toys upstairs leaving an open living area. I've tidied and cleaned the whole downstairs (just a bit more dusting to do tomorrow but that's always the last thing done lol). I've vacuumed the stairs and removed all but the hats and scarves which live in a box next to the stairgate.

I've sorted out our bedroom :j There's still 2 smallish boxes of bits and a big pile of greetings cards to go through but everything is now put away for now and I was able to vacuum it today! I also vacuumed the bathroom and have finally gotten rid of the bucket of aquarium gravel that had taken up residence in there.

I've done all the washing up and packed away all the superfluous mugs and plates. Tomorrow I shall go through the undersink trove and make sure everything has a purpose :T I've fixed 2 items that were broken and can now pass these on to new homes which I'm pleased about. I also have another bag of CS stuff to go.

Tomorrow's other major job (now that 4 out of the 5 areas of the house are clean and tidy) is to sort out the boys room. There's now far too much 'stuff' up there for my liking and it's likely I'm going to need to take the sides off DS2s cot soon (he keeps trying to climb out of it) and the room needs to be 'proofed' lol. There's so many toys and clothes, it's unreal, but I will sort my way through it!

    4 rooms down, 1 to go!!! :T

I decided I need to try and be an early riser to try and fit more in to the day - not just cleaning, exercise too. Alarm went off at 7am and I am awake just about to move out of bed. Breakfast and then the de-cluttering is beginning, starting with the bathroom - should be easier, then on to the kitchen eeeek!!

  • 13 DVDs out, 4 earmarked for zapper, and a bunch of VHS videos to go on freecycle (as I think most of the charity shops round here won't take them).
20 DVDs in the ebay pile. List once then if not sold, out to the charity shop.

Boys room done - 2 toys to CS, 1 in bin, 1 broken drawer from plastic drawers replaced and broken one binned. It's all tidy (see how long for) and a lot of stuff is to go in the loft as it's too big for their room and they don't play with it much. Will bring it down in a few weeks to swap with something else.

Under the sink done - 3 boxes (Why?) of sterilising tablets binned as we never use them. All re-organised and I even found the beaters from my electric whisk that have been missing since Xmas! :j

    Feeling Accomplished! :D

  • I managed to find two more things to leave the house:-

    108. Football boots (outgrown) - CS
    109. Backpack - CS

Now have two huge, full bags to take to the CS, hopefully I'll be able to do that next week.
Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.
