We started decluttering my partners house at the weekend ready for me moving in

1 - Pair of black mens shoes split across top of both & squeaks when he walks! - bin
    2 - Broken ceramic dish - bin
    3 - 4 old toothbrushes - bin
4 - 2 travel size empty shower gels - bin (wasn't too impressed by that as I was keeping them to fill when we go camping at the weekend!)
    5 - 2 doors - to be sold
6 - Broken kettle - put to one side as not entirely sure it can be binned
    7 - old mirror - tip pile

He's now got the bug and I've left him to carry on this week

Libby, the kettle should go to your local recycling centre as it's WEEE and shouldn't go to landfill :)

This weekend, I have decluttered one book, and congratulated myself on not decluttering the witches hat I had lurking, as I used it for a fancy dress party!

I've also managed to use up a tub of hair mask, a big bottle of shampoo and will have finished a tub of exfoliating shower gel tomorrow. Decluttering mode has shifted more towards packing- I'm sorting out things as I go, but as we're moving into a bit of a project house (3 weeks!!!), and we don't really know what we'll need, I'm err-ing on the side of caution a bit too much!

I am going to have a bit more of a go at ebay-ing when we get moved in. I've never had much luck with it, but everyone else here seems to do well! I think I need to buy more things to get myself a better rating, then I might do a bit better?

I haven't done anymore in the kitchen yet as I'm conserving energy :o:D

I have however gone through some of my clothes drawers today and collected the following for the charity box:

    2 x pyjamas
    2 x bras
    2 x nighties
    1 x leggings
    1 x blouse
    1 x skirt
    and a glasses case.

In the bin went 7 pairs of pants and a tatty bra.

So far so good. Just got the two chest of drawers to go through then I can nag OH to do his but I will probably end up doing a sneaky sort through :rotfl:

Hello all - it's my first post ever! I'm so inspired by all your decluttering, but don't seem to be able to get going myself. I work full time and have a busy social life, and really just don't know where to start as everything seems to need longer than the time I have. When I do get going, I seem to flit between different rooms and the garden - can't seem to focus. Any suggestions?

Start on one section of one room at a time would be my advice :) For example, we have a kitchen diner which has lots of stuff that needs sorting so I've sectioned it into 9 areas. So far I've gone through four sections. But by bit it will start to make a difference :)

Loads of stuff gone to the tip today. I feel quite uplifted.:A

I have to go and declutter the weeds in the garden later. We got rid of our shed so the weeds seem more noticeable now.:rotfl:
