Thanks. I was debating a car boot sale, or trying my hand at just selling them from our front garden?
Maybe put some signs up on our window to say we'll be selling on sunday morning (Theres a church right around the corner so might catch some of them)..... in the hopes that people see it, remember and walk back round...
I've got 21 cucumber plants, 24 tomato plants, 18 pak chois, trays of herb seedlings that have all decided to take LOLWealth is not measured by currency0 -

I'm too impatient though and want it all nowI don't like having to decide what to do this year and what to do next :rotfl:
Yes it is hard work especially when you are not used to it, I can do about 30mins now without a rest.
What have you got in bed no1, I put half to carrots and half to parsnips - that's for parsnip wine this winter - planning ahead :rotfl:.
I found some poor pathetic strawberry plants yesterday amid the docks in one of the beds, I've cleared the docks and weeds and thought I'd water and feed well and see if they give me any runner as I think they were the 'marshmallow' variety.
Almost 100% germination on the bean front :j, one yellow tomato seedling just poking it's head above the compost but no squash as yet
DH decided to help and sprayed the docks and nettles on the paths - thought I should say :T but maybe it will be :eek: if he got any on the beds - I'll wait and see0 -
Feeling very green fingered - the courgettes and peppers are now actually doing something and we had more potatoes from the plot last night. Also gave some to DS, and a tomato plant. Lets see if he can keep it alive.Spend less now, work less later.0

At long last I was able to pick a couple od stalks of rhubarb, it's supposed to be an early variety but better late than never. Looking forward to crumble with cream this weekend.0

Same here, rhubarb has not been great this year. I think it was too dry at a crucial time, it will probably really kick off now!First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

I've got sweetcorn and beetroot in there so far. There are secondhand parsnips which i dont want so they'll be coming out this weekend. I've got a load of tomatoes at home waiting to go in too
I de-weeded around the strawberries and there are quite a few red ones there that will be picked this weekend. We also de-weeded around the blackberries too, although I am quite tempted to prune them right back once they've fruited and move them because I dont want them going right across the centre of my plot
My version of weeding and that of my "assistant" are completely different....I'd rather do a proper job of it and pick out the roots by hand, but he would rather chop the soil up, wait, pull the dead stuff off the surface and repeat the process, leaving me to pick out all the weeds that come out in the meantime   I can see his point but he just doesnt seem to get itI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. my friend came over yesterday and we dug up a whole bed! Plans for it are either turnips and more radishes or more rocket. Will sort it out once it stops raining....Courgettes need to get moved into the ground, they've started flowering!First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

Happygreen Quote my friend came over yesterday and we dug up a whole bed! Plans for it are either turnips and more radishes or more rocket. Will sort it out once it stops raining....Courgettes need to get moved into the ground, they've started flowering! I don't know how to do multiple quotes
Raining:- what's that? the temp here is 24degrees and I'm really hot, just had the alpacas sheared this afternoon, got a bin full of alpaca wool, think I'll give it to the birds.
Beans are doing well in their pots, one courgette has just emerged the rest are taking it easy, three yellow toms up and four red ones, may not get a crop this year as its rather late.0 -
harvested potatoes, broad beans and some strawberries so far!
could do with some advice regarding my courgettes though....they seem to have sprouted long stalks with flowers on the ends of them but no sign of any turning into courgettes??:( Any ideas???Mortgage 12.12.12 £55842 12.12.13 £42716 14.12.14 £28837 13.12.15 £25913
