Thankyou both.
More annoyed at myself for taking my eyes off the ball.
Everything is currently floating in tubs of water in an attempt to rescue so will see what happens.

Had a rough week and now everything pretty much dead from lack of care...
Feel rubbish
loads of water
I only went onto my veg patch on the 4th of June for the very first time this year, no beds had been done, nothing planted for the last three years, so don't despair all is not lost.
I look on it as something grown is better than nothing even though the yield may be smaller and later - it doesn't matter.0 -

I could have written that post, except my date is 5th June
You might need to get a head start and get plug plants for now. I'll always recommend a tray of "living salads". Although they are meant to be pick-and-come-again for window sills they work well in my garden, just soak the tray, pick some plants apart and plant in good compost. a few weeks later, salad galore!First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

Great idea, I'll put it on my list for tomorrow when I have to go to the garden centre for a cheap watering can, as my nemaslug has arrived in the post today.0 -

Sunshine today so I'll go out to check on the greenhouse now - serious potting is eminent! I'll probably leave tomatoes in pots this year as I had issues with blight and mildew the previous years. I didn't buy enough grow bags for the amount of cucumber plants I have grown and everywhere has run out, none at B &M, Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Morris, nowhere!...will have to improvise somehow....:(First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0

This allotment malarkey is hard work!
I've got 4 rows of cabbages/cauliflower in, my grape vine takes pride of place
The really hard work is just beginning now though- clearing the dead grass from the half of the plot I'm not going to use this year. I put glyphosphate on it a couple of weeks ago and it's well done the job :j Going to put heavy duty plastic down on it and cover it with said straw for a few months. Then I can concentrate on the other halfI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
