OP just wanted advice, it has been other people making assumptions, misunderstanding, taking quotes out of context and stating facts that aren't true which makes it appear a wind-up at a glance and like there are contradictions.

Why is it nonsense about knowing the courier? I know for Yodel I always get the same person, for Royal Mail it's been the same postman for a while. If they have a lot of deliveries, which they stated they do, I don't see why it's so hard to believe they'd know most couriers. As for ID, some people just like to be sure. Especially if they do usually get the same couriers and one day a different one turns up.

Personally, I wouldn't ask for ID but that doesn't mean others don't.

They didn't want it hand delivered but they would have taken the package. However, it was never offered. They never even saw it. The guy never gave it to them.

I have read the whole thread.

The OP has contradicted herself several times.

It would be interesting to know exactly how many people ask delivery people for ID before allowing them to deliver what they came to deliver.
It just doesnt make any sense whatsoever.

Not all couriers are the same person, even if working for the same company. If 'Jane' normally delivers for My Hermes, for example, it is possible that Jane has a week off and someone else comes.

And the OP wants us to belive she would ask this new courier to show their ID before accepting a parcel she is expecting?

    Rubbish.

Someone asked the OP "Why are you so bothered by it?" and the answer she came up with was "To check their ID". She no doubt thought it sounded plausible but quite the contrary, it gives the whole thread a feel of 'Being made up-ness' about it.

She then goes on to say "But they didnt even offer the item anyway".

Oh, and he wasnt a "cold caller" anyway.....so pointing out the sign is rude.

Nonsense. Her "Offensive" situation turrns out to be nothing of the sort and forum members arent all falling for the drama.
The OP needs to find better things to do with her time.

now who's fishing, ive just looked and no there isn't any way to search user names.

thus also adding to my fishy findings of the op who has also allegedly searched her own name. but how, its not possible.

ahhhhh... now we know the op is a fabrication expert

still believe the knock knock theory???

The OP has repeated the same several times. They've added in other things that people have taken the wrong way but none of it contradicts what they previously said.
It would be interesting to know exactly how many people ask delivery people for ID before allowing them to deliver what they came to deliver.

I can't imagine many but that doesn't mean no one does.
Not all couriers are the same person, even if working for the same company. If 'Jane' normally delivers for My Hermes, for example, it is possible that Jane has a week off and someone else comes.

Of course. They just said they know the people who regularly deliver as, due to a lot of deliveries, it tends to be the same people. They never said that no one else ever delivers or they know every single courier person.
And the OP wants us to belive she would ask this new courier to show their ID before accepting a parcel she is expecting?

    Rubbish.

Again, seems rubbish to you and it's not something I'd do either. Doesn't mean others don't do it.
Someone asked the OP "Why are you so bothered by it?" and the answer she came up with was "To check their ID". She no doubt thought it sounded plausible but quite the contrary, it gives the whole thread a feel of 'Being made up-ness' about it.

There was more to that reply but I'm not going to attempt to find it.
She then goes on to say "But they didnt even offer the item anyway".

They didn't offer it. They walked off after getting angry when the OP expressed surprise at they guy being there. They never pointed to the sign!

The OP wanted advice. They have better things to do with their time, hence why they haven't been constantly replying and then had to state that fact when people started being rude about lack of replies (despite questions already being answered by them).

lol! Advanced search. You can search for seller, buyer and item number. Someone with your username, although with 0 feedback clearly not an active user.

They also live in the UK. No image or anything as they're obviously not using the account.

I'm not fishing, just making a point about usernames being used by others. The rest was a sarcastic/mocking comment based on your post saying the same.

Sorry to be contradictory but you most certainly can search usernames.

More than that too. With a name, you can search what the person has bought, bid on, watches plus more.

You've clearly lied. Says a lot. Lying about having an ebay account doesn't change the thread or help you get anywhere.

You've had the answers. All the information is there. You're not the only one still commenting/questioning points because you've confused others - the cold callers sign is one very clear misunderstanding. People have read the OP posts but then read all the edited quotes, assumptions, made up stories and so on. They forget the original replies or think things have been quoted exactly and they believe that them statements are right/true and they're not because they've been mis-quoted.

If you take just the OP replies it all makes sense, all the information is there, there are no contradictions. Yes, it may seem strange to ask couriers for ID and not everyone can understand being uncomfortable with strangers at their door, but that doesn't mean it's not true and it doesn't change the fact the OP said no and the guy turned up anyway which was the issue.

im guilty and bang to rights, ( but only because ive come clean)
ive been economical with the truth at worst just to see if I could get more info.. as you say all the info (posted) is there for other members to read, and therefor up to them to make sure they post with all available facts, my banter has been with you and a few others. the whole thread is about a storm in a teacup in the grand reality of world events. just wish I knew what was in the package:rotfl:, not really couldn't give a monkeys. happy days, perhaps well meet again on another thread.:)
