  • Good morning all.
Late start for me today even though I have been up since 5.30 We have my brother staying so spent far to long chatting over breakfast. He didn't get here to late last night so hopefully going out to right for a meal instead ( rustled up egg bacon and wedges last night)
Took dogs for a long walk round the fields this morning as its not to bad here, quite dry with just a breeze. Bro is happy dectecting away now so won't see him for a few hours. Got my gd coming today so my snuggle fix will be filled.
    Right onwards and upwards
Stay safe everyone and hugs to all xx
    Bright Blessings xx

    Morning crew,

Sun is shining at the mo, but woke up earlier to rain lashing against the window. Forecast is for rain all day but it looks too clear for that.

One lot of washing done and in the TD, second lot is in. Not sure whether to peg it out or not.

Sausages for tea tonight. The fellas are at footy tonight so a bit of peace there for a short while.

DH actually got some work jobs done but on his way home the timing belt broke on his van. So today is sourcing another one and some pulley or other that is broken :( More expense when we just don't want it!

Not sure what to do today. I'm thinking of going for a walk while its dry.

    Have a good day all.
  • Hi everyone I am usually just a lurker but thought I would reply to Yvieblue about OS courses. If you log onto Futurelearn there are a whole ramge of courses free of charge. These are all run by various universities and are very good. I completed a couple just before Christmas and I am starting one on Forensic Science next week. They cover a range of subjects and are easy going.

I have followed the thread for a couple of years and have found such good advice, best one is the Sistercas Christmas Fund. my £1 a day this year nearly covered all the presents and has been a godsend in a difficult year for us. My OH has been diagnosed with a rare disorder this year and has not been able to work for the last six months and not a very good prospect of being able to.

So I shall be reading avidly for all the money saving tips I can pick up

    xx

Tru - I'm down the river from you - where it is actually estuary; and we had a very high tide this morning. So much so, that it was high for over an hour, so I an only imagine how much higher it was further up the river. At one point, I saw some foolhardy person walking on the gangway which leads to our lighthouse. HE can only have been a few inches above the water level.
I've seen a piccie of weston as well and it looked as though the water had gone over the sea wall.

Hope everyone is well and I'll wish everyone a very happy new year.

    Hi Jackie,

When we recently bought a second house, I went through a local broker who got us a deal for both houses, fully comp, buildings & contents for only about £25 per year more than DH had been paying for one house! He had shopped around on t'interweb already but I went to the broker my colleagues recommended and was very happy :)

    Afternoon all,

its a bit quiet on the home front but nicely so. Talking about floods I know the river seven has burst its banks but I'm wondering if the Camp House Inn at Grimley is underwater too. It floods every few years as its right on the riverside but I do love that place.

Dragged a few more empty boxes out of the loft yesterday. The loft is now totally empty. Today I want to organize my freezer and food cupboards and give them a clean too.

Norfolksaver so pleased you decided to delurk.:)

    Salmon for tea tonight. :)

    Have a good day all,

Think I spoke to soon with regards to the weather, just had a mad dash out in the rain to cover animals and get washing in, the wind is howling here.

housework is all done, just loaded the airer up with the washing off the line, it was nearly dry so shouldnt take long to finish off.

DH is bottiling up some Elderberry wine he made in June, so that will be ready to drink come Christmas, think I'm going to have a look in my books looking for more recipes now I have a few demi johns empty.

    Keep safe everyone x
