    Hiya DF

Sorry not been around. Good to see you plodding along - you are doing great - every little helps :D

Great to see your progress jumping too - you are braver than me lol. I managed only one pole at my last event but I ended up retiring her on the xc as she didnt feel right - got back person out and yep she has pulled something in the lumbar region. A week later, bute and some rest and she was galloping around the field like a loon yesterday !

    Hope your nan is okxx

    Hi Lam

My Nanna is out of hospital as of Friday thankfully and seems to be recovering well after that shock she gave us all and herself. Thanks :)

Aw that's kind of you to say - I really enjoy jumping the big girl at the moment so whilst I feel like that I shall continue. I'm not showing this week due to the change in hours so next week will be my next attempt but still just the big clear.
Well done on knowing your girl to retire her when needed and great she is back on form now! I can't wait to try a bit of XC - I don't think I could with the big girl as she takes so long to box and is very fretful. She won't miss it if we don't do it, so I shall just wait and see how it's meant to happen. An opportunity will present itself, I'm sure.

  • I'm feeling slightly guilty that mine are out naked still, but it's only wet, not windy, and they've got field shelters and hay and they were both wet but warm this morning. My problem is that if I rug them now, I have nowhere to go when it's -5, sleeting and gusting to 100mph+, whereas if I leave them naked in this, they grow a proper winter coat.

LOL nithered is freezing cold, shivering hahaha. Made me giggle.
The pony only had a rain sheet on tho it's blowing a gale. Ours are in over Winter Caz otherwise I would do exactly same as you. He was a s0d when I brought him in, the rain sends him loopy tho the wind was making him silly I think. Lucky he is so small otherwise I would have been in trouble as ground was very slippy. He nearly had me over twice!

Really busy today. Proper catch up soon.

  • There appears to have been a bit of wind-induced bouncing in my top field last night as well! It's picked up again here now and I was sitting at my desk worrying about them, so got all my wet-weather gear back on and went down the hill to find they hadn't set foot outside the field shelters all morning. At least now I know that two sections of hay in each feeder keeps them occupied for four and a half hours. Wouldn't you know it though, I didn't take my gloves with me because I thought I'd just do a quick hay top-up rather than skip out as well, and Merlin had been resting his bum on his slow feeder....you can guess the rest!!!!

  • I have a whole 20-yard trek through the back garden ;) I'm very, very lucky! The downside is not being able to pay someone else to do it in this kind of weather though!

Where has the day gone. I've been in meetings all morning and now trying to get some documents and emails out but need to get a list written as I'm losing the plot at the moment. Questions and comments from all directions and I need to get on with my work. All valid questions and comments tho so they need answering as are timely......

Anyway I have until 4pm to continue and then a meeting at 4, leaving work around 5 then back on 8-10. I don't have the horses to do tonight as my good friend does them on Tuesday's.

£1.41 paid to CCV today. Slow month but that's ok!

    Good Evening All

Well I am in need of a list as my brain is full.

For the rest of the week I am working US hours of 2-10 so I need to get organised. This leaves the mornings to get jobs done. Although I will be tired on a night, it will be nice to have the mornings to myself and get caught up.

    Tomorrow's plan of action:

    Up, dressed for yard
    Make packed lunch for DD
Kids up, dressed, breakfast and to school for 8:10
    Yard for 8:30
    Turn out pony
    Put 2 horses on walker
    Ride one
    Turn out walkers.
    Muck out 5!!!!!
Get feeds and hay ready for tea for 3.
Bring in or ask a friend to later if weather permits.
    Ald1
    Home, lunch, walk dog
    Housework (at least kitchen)
Put tea on ready to just serve
Housework until time for work or snooze until work!

OK I feel better now I've started a list. I now need to think about a work related list.
