  • I hear you re: buying lunch etc. At school it's between £1.30-£2.30 a day depending on what they have in. But it's obviously going to be 'less than healthy' food. Which I originally talked myself into thinking was a cheap meal. Compare to 'eating out' it is quite cheap, but actually when a tin of soup costs 50p and a slice of bread about 15p... it's not that cheap. This week I'm determined to take my own food in & for debt busting and weight loss! :)

I think I'm joining you on the OCD. I've spent the week researching interval training, low fat recipes, metabolism boosting etc. I'm hooked!

Copied from previous post for figures on 7th Jan v now:

SLC £3318.9 / £3318.90 This is now having more paid a month
    CCV £11483.44 / £11312.60

    CCT £5490.04 / £5440.09
    CCR £3957.65 / £3918.07
    NTW £14451.24 / £14185.79
    OD £946.28 / £892
    NXT £254.66 / £234.70

    £39902.21 / £39302.15

So the figures are heading in the right direction.

I've had some hassle with my V credit card which I think is now sorted. I've also taken the opportunity to ask for a credit increase as my BT rate is due to expire on another card in May and whilst I was getting it sorted I thought I'd request that so I can move the other card over. They get back to you in 24 hours so let's wait and see. Worst is they will say no.

I'm literally not spending anywhere else still - I know it's early days but every day is a bonus. This month is still a tight one but should get through it just without too much pain!

Good news is my promotion's kicked in at work so I now have my own office and the pay rise was a bit more than expected (still skint as always!) so that's great.

Paying farrier tonight and dentist coming soon too. Accounted for tho. Still having issues with the big girl but that's all about being patient and giving it time to heal via massage (poll). Little pony is being used by a friends daughter tonight for a little clear round - so cute. Will do his confidence good and he'll be ready to bring my daughter on when she's ready to do it.

It's funny as we toyed with the idea of lunches but they serve up rubbish and then fill up on cake and custard which sounds yum, but every day!!?? Not healthy in long run :( I hope you succeed in both aspects :) I am feeling aches in my shoulder and that's just from worknig my horses on Monday lol! Not yet managed to find a time to work out!

Off to change sig to show 50 pay days left - I reckon it'll be less than that but will think about that nearer the time!

  • Hello world :)

It's been a while as I've been so busy. Had a course for work, then we've all been ill with flu and cold. We're starting to pick up now but slowly as it's really knocked us sideways.

I've been given alot of tasks at work for throughout the year so I have plenty to be focussing on tpo get me through each day whislt I have to come into the office. I do enjoy it but I'd enjoy it more to be doing what I love each day. One day, but not until this debt's cleared.

Well I've had a right carry on with my CC again. Even tho they reinstated my 0% it didn't reinstate so I was still getting charged masses of interest. This has now been sorted but the interest not refunded. I'm relived it's reinstated tho as worryingly I couldn't afford it not to be.

So this month again, due to having to pay more that normal, sees me scraping together for diesel and food. All bills are paid so I guess I just need to see what I can come up with.

The horses are doing well except the big girl is still having poll issues meaning she is in pain when being ridden (from bridle) and the massaging isn't helping. The back lady is coming out again to see what she can do tomorrow night.

On a good note, back to the CC, my credit limit has been increased meaning that when my other card runs out I will hopefully have a 0% deal offer on this one meaning I can transfer the whole balance.

I'll post some new scores as I've not done it in a while.

    CCR £3957.65 / £3918.07 / £3878.89

    £39902.21 / £39302.15 / £39157.04

The good news is that it's heading in the right direction and the NTW (loan) will be sub 14k when I pay my next payment this month. the following month, CCV (Virgin card) should be sub 11k. It's all motivational.

  • Hopefully someone can help, like many my egg card was closed long time ago and passed to Barclaycard, I have been paying off at a high interest every monthh, just today I applied for and was accepted by Halifax for a 30month interest free £5700 money transfer card.
On the application Halifax require my Barclaycard Card number and expiry date, however as the account has been closed for some years I have never been issued with a card with expiry date on it.

I contact Barclay Card and they inform me that they cannot and will not supply me with an expiry date and the ONLY was to pay off this high interest debt is via Bank transfer, however I don't have that sort of money in my bank account and want to avail of Halifax's offer of 30month interest free.

Anyone out there experience with this or any advice

    Cheers

    Mark

    HI DF

Well done on keeping going. Its so hard to not get demotivated. Well done on the weightloss too.

Have you thought about a second opinion for your mare? Mine had poll issues (she is a weaver and with the weave grill she bobs instead) I found a really good guy and in 2 sessions she was right again. Hope she comes right x
  • Thanks LAM - funnily enough the vet's coming tomorrow for some annual jabs so I've asked them to have a sneaky look whilst they are there or if they think the back woman's the best person for the job. Hoping we get somewhere as the poor thing's had different issues for a year now meaning we've lost a year of (both way) riding enjoyment.

Without saying where you're located obviously, would your guy cover North East area? Thanks :)

Mark - sorry I don't think this is the right place for your request - I'd maybe copy it over to the debt free wannabe boards - good luck.

  • Afternoon :)

Well I'm feeling quite a mixture of things today. Getting the bad news out of the way - I'm still in arguements with old gas & Elec company as they have sent me a closure bill for 6 weeks totally ~£253 which I just cannot understand. How do people survive - we are very cautious about the fuel we use and switch lights, power etc etc off yet I still seem to be raking the cost up from somewhere.

My worry now is that when I get the new bill from the new company that it's going to be even more :(

Also I have no money left this month after the huge CC payment (whilst it all got sorted out) and paying 2 months livery and so I'm having to resort to get money out of the kids accounts and fill up on the CC. (Need the cash as owe £100 cash hence taking out of kids otherwise would put on CC too).

On a good note, my big girl doesn't have poll issues any more meaning the work I've done has worked however she is still tilting her head as soon as contact is made so we're not wondering if it's become a habit - we have 4/5 weeks of different situations to test now (given that we need to trial each one min 3 times and I don't ride every day so will take that long). At least I have a plan and I know her poll is ok.

Times like this alos make me realise how lucky I am to have what I have and that the dream I have may one day be a reality for me so I should never forget why I am doing this. I could quite easily spend life paying min payments and not chasing the dream. Getting rid of the debt means I can one day have that dream with my family.

So tonight is a busy one and once I'm home I want to put a colour on my hair (first time in months and months - used to go every 4 weeks and PAY for it!!!) then do my eyebrows (same, used to pay for it) and make myself feel human again. Then steak and wine for Val day with DH.

I've ordered some shopping to come for tonight as I still had the vouchers doing nothing for T£sco and I considering I have no money it worked well.

I'm going to Docs tonight as I've been poorly for 2 weeks now and hoped it'd have gone on it's own but looks like I'll have to pay for prescription! Nothing too expensive for good health though.
