    Hey all,

Have any of you visited Butlins through the Sun offer before please? I have been twice and am going again this year but we always go half board. I just wondered what room you get if you don't click half board. Is it just a standard room or do you get self catering facilities? My brother in law is looking to come with us if there is availability but it depends on whether they get self catering or not.

    Thanks everyone :)

I did Butlins Minehead in 2012, we were booked into a standard apartment with kitchen and lounge, but when we checked in they had upgraded us to a 'silver' bungalow!!!

    Oooh nice one :)

I paid £30 for upgrade from standard to silver last year and they had ran out of silvers so they gave us gold for free!

    Very pleased :)

We book at least 2 holidays a year in Europe using the sun holiday. We have been to many places in France, Italy, Spain and Holland using this method. I would suggest that you also book the ferry through the sun as it is cheaper. Good luck with you choices
Have you been to any of the sites in lake Garda ?
  • today code is RACE
  • We stayed at the holiday park at Lake Garda and flew into Verona and hired a car. It was nice , very close to the lake and could walk down easily and swim in it . The only downside was we stayed in July and it was very very hot. We felt like baked beans in a can at some points in the caravan .

It's a beautiful area I'd definitely recommend it.We drove to Limone and went over by ferry to Malcesine both of which are gorgeous. We also spent an evening in Verona and a day at Gardaland as well as a few pottering around the local area of Salo.

    Hi ,

I have never been on a sun holiday but was hoping to go on our first one this year. Someone mentioned that first timers might be required to actually buy the newspapers as we may not be able to book online. Where and how do I find this out before it's too late please? I was hoping to be able to book online with the codes here without buying the paper.

I'm pretty sure you will need the paper tokens as a first time booker. I know we did! And you will need to pick a minimum of 3 dates and 3 parks and they will give you whichever is available. That's how it was for us but we have done it for years now so are priority and the rules may have changed. I'd start collecting the paper tokens just in case it hasn't changed tbh

Ok, thanks for that. I hope the newspaper from yesterday is still in the shops. :/
