I'm fairly sure nutella doesn't eat meat?
Well remembered
Bangton, I've been veggie for 20 years, and have never given LO fish or meat. She does have fish at the nursery (but not meat), as I thought the extra bit of nutrition would be good for her.
I did initially contemplate including meat and fish in her diet at home, but realised I wouldn't even be able to taste it for flavour or check it for temperature - and standing in Sainsbury's holding a chicken breast was enough to put me off!
As long as you have basic knowledge of nutrition and make sure your LO gets enough protein (I add lentils to many dishes, and LO loves things like falafel and hummous), you'll be absolutely fine, and as you say it'll be much easier to be able to eat the same things at home. Please do ask if I can be of any help0 -
Nutella - your post the other day about lo sharing falafel, made me look it up and then make some falafel burgers
my oh absolutely loved em, I need a couple more go's and then lo will be sharing too

Yay! :j They really are one of the best things ever. Which recipe did you use?0 -
It was off the bbc good food website, I was actually going to pm you and ask for your recipe but I haven't been cooking long and was worried you'd have a long complicated one haha.
My mil is very impressed at all the new foods I'm trying to make, I just want lo to eat healthily.Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Meant to reply to the question about cows milk the other day. We switched when LO turned one and did it over a period of six weeks, replacing 30ml of formula with cows milk each week (mixed in the same bottle) until she only had cows milk. Partly to get her used to the taste and partly to make sure her tummy could handle it. Once she was on 100% cows milk she got constipated, so we switched to goats milk which is perfect for her0

:rotfl: To be honest I don't really use a recipe anymore and I often buy the ready made ones too, but the BBC Good Food one looks nice, so I might try that - I reckon LO would enjoy 'helping'. Ready made ones, my favourite brand is Cauldron, but the Sainsburys own brand ones are also yummy
Well done you for doing so well with cooking0 -
Nutella so sorry about the house. . Sounds like such a hassle! I do wish people couldn't pull out like in Scotland! Thank you for the meat responses. I hadn't thought of the fact that i wouldn't be able to taste or check the food temp either. I'm going to go with veggie and when he's older he can be like his dad and have meat whilst out. Or if he's anything like I was as a child he wont want it anyway. Thanks again. Glad I asked. I'm such a finnicky eater.. The veggie thing isn't a problem but I'm scared of passing on my eating habits! I've got a sickness bug today. It started yesterday and OH really cheesed me off saying I was whinging all day. That ended in a row and him going off while I was left holding baby. Really cross with him. Today he offered to take day off work but I thought no way after yesterday. No idea how I'll get through today though but I managed yesterday. Just worried sick lo will get it although I think it's something I've eaten rather than a bug0

Bangton - my oh went out for the local derby and ended up comatose on the living room floor, I've come down this morning to find a bowl full of yellow sick.... And it's on my carpet! I've just blocked the toilet getting rid of it. Safe to say I'm in a foul mood and wish he was at work!
Anyone know best way to get a stain out of a carpet?Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
Hugs to Bangton and MrsH. Sometimes OH's are just soooo annoying. Yesterday we were going out at 11am to visit a friend of his who has recently split from his gf of 11 years. So me being me decided to get jobs done before we left so I put fresh bedding on, put the washing in, hoovered every room and mopped every room except for the lounge. Did OH help.....na, he sat down and enjoyed a sausage and bacon sandwich for his breakfast.
Well this afternoon will be a test of my skills as taking my lo swimming for the 1st time. I felt so stupid last night as had a 1st time mum moment but yet was disappointed in myself as felt I should of known. I thought I'd put a normal disposable nappy on my lo and then swim pants on top, at like 10pm I realised it was swim pants and then a swimming nappy over the top. Had a proper panic as of course everywhere was shut at that time. Dash to the shops at soon as they opened this morning in prep for this afternoon.
Going to wear my swim costume though underneath my clothes but getting us both changed afterwards will be a test of my skills.
On another note when did kiddicare stop the price match + 25%? I did this with a play gym before I had my lo and was going to do it again but noticed on the website they just price match now. No point buying from them now as surely you'd just buy the product from where ever you have seen it cheaper. Well in my case I would as I have no baby shops near me so kiddicare, mothercare etc are all about 30 mins away. Easier to just buy online.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Hi all, I was a regular poster of the pregnancy thread last summer, but only now finding the time to log-in to MSE again now that LO is 5 and a half months old!
Continualdiamond - please let us know how you get on taking LO swimming, I'm taking my LG for the first time on Wed, and although I'm excited for her as she loves being in the bath, I'm also panicking at the thought of getting us both changed - especially when we get out! Any tips much appreciated!0
