  • Morning ladies,

Nothing really to say just wanted to wish you all a nice easter whatever you get up to. I will certainly be eating easter eggs to stop my son from eating to much chocolate... I'm so selfless aren't I!! I'm only thinking about his teeth and sugar consumption and weight and selflessly damaging my self for him haha. That's what I'm going with anyway, nothing to do with being addicted to chocolate since I was pregnant with him? Only craving I got!!

We've decided that lo will be going to nursery next year once he's turned 3 next year so I'll be going through the same as you ladies and will be calling on your experiences. However I'll have a 5 month old by then and may be ready for a bit of a rest that nursery will give me rather than feeling guilty. Haha

What see your plans for this weekend? Do you do much for easter? My oh is working so quiet one for us.
Saffa enjoy your weekend break, don't know how north you are but I hope the weather is better than where I am :)
Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!
  • not sure Mrs H as LO was 1 year when he first went to nursery so much less aware than a 3 year old. I was thoroughly sick of him after 12 months of maternity leave so I loved leaving him at nursery! He doesn't talk yet do no 'mummy mummy' to tug at my heart strings yet.

I think LO eats too much wheat which doesn't help the huge bloated toddler belly he's got! He loves bread and breadsticks. When he's at nursery he has weetabix and eats between 4-8 sandwich quarters at teatime plus biscuits! I'm going to cut out wheat for myself this month so I'm going to see how LO does with different flours and different foods. His dad will probably still give him wheat so one meal of the day will be wheat anyway. Someone suggested asking a health visitor and getting him weighed but I'm not that worried. I just don't want him to eat bread all the time!

Evening ladies :) Hope that everyone had a lovely weekend and that little ones enjoyed Easter?

We had a fabulous time, staying in Cumbria - Brough - it was SO relaxing. A LOVED it as we saw loads of sheep, horses and tractors... some of her favourite things! There was also a commercial vehicle rally in the village with a huge variety of vintage buses; it would have been rude not to take a ride as they went right past our door... A was over the moon! I think perhaps because we never use the bus it seems a really special treat for her? And we had gorgeous weather too... misty mornings but they soon cleared into lovely sunny days.

I am loving the stage that A is at now, well, most of the time. Every day we have new words and sayings from her. OH did a burp the other day and A looked at him and said "Pardon you!" I struggled not to burst out laughing at that.

    take care ladies

    I've been Money Tipped!
Aw sounds like a lovely Easter Saf.
T has shown himself to be a true chocoholic. If he sees an easter egg, he tears it open and we have a super tantrum if it's not his!

We've started to think about when he'll be in his big bed and as such need to refine bed time a bit. Currently he sits on my lap and we read, chat etc in his dark room until he drifts off and then I'll put him down. Recently this has been taking longer and longer, so I've decided to put him into his cot after a couple of stories (not rushed) and a cuddle, a kiss and a good night. Obv this evening (first night) he was super unhappy, sobbing and crying out for me, just popped in every few minutes, reassured him, but never lifted him out. Tell me it gets easier and he can get to a point when he can start to get to sleep on his own? I was very strong, didn't give in and lift him out, but it was pretty sad.
*Not completely out of the blue for him, he does this with Granny and DH, it's just me he won't let me leave him*

    Happy Easter all,

    L.xxx

    Hi guys
I haven't posted for such a long time. Hope you are all well. Sounds like the little ones had a lovely easter. We did too, we did a little egg hunt in the garden which he loved and then a bbq at my mums :)

All is well with baby no2. 16 weeks now, been for our first scan which went well. Took A with us after a long think. We rang up and asked and they said they were happy for him to come and quite a lot of parents do it. We took my mum with us too just incase we needed an extra pair of hands. He was very sweet and loved seeing the little dot moving about on the screen.

Lazywife, it will get easier. We had a similar bedtime routine which we changed when he was about 15 months I think. We used to give him a bottle and have him sit on us till he dropped off then move him to the cot. Have you tried getting him really involved with storY time? My LO is a lot older, 3, but he absolutely loves to chose a story at bedtime. We make a big fuss about it and then just say 'ok jump into bed then and we'll start' in he hops and we read story then it's lights out kiss cuddle and leave him. He does have a gro clock too which I do think is fab. Just persevere and he will get used to it I promise :)

Hi all, I used to post here many moons ago but funnily don't have much time since the small person came along and can't post on my phone.

I wonder if you could offer some advice about potty training. We are on day 4 of Potty Training my 28 month old. She's doing well but won't tell us when she needs to go. We put her on 3-4 times per hour depending on how much juice she has had and she usually goes. We have had one accident per day on days 2-4 (3 on day 1). I don't want to give up and confuse her but should we continue if she isn't telling us? Please help, all advice & experience welcomed.

We tried earlier in the year but she wasn't at all responsive so stopped after a day, she has done much better this time around. We started as she was asking to use the toilet, which I now think was out of interest/being a novelty maybe more than being ready.

Really at odds whether to keep going or give up, I have no other children so have no experience to compare it to. Husband says to keep going, its me who regrets starting! :D

Would be grateful for any wisdom x

Hmm, no advice yet for potty training; that's something I'm planning to tackle over the summer as feel A will be ready.

Had an awww moment earlier; after picking her up from nursery, we went out into the garden for a little bit of play before I made dinner. After feeding the birds, A sat down and patting the grass next to her said, "Mommy darling, sit here". Lol my precious little sweetheart!
