    Ahhh how sweet :)

The gro clock is a winner here too, as was changing to the bed part of the cot bed. I love the little book that came with the gro clock too!

So, at 1o'clock on Wednesday morning I was woken by a loud thump followed by a little voice saying "mummy A bump bump" getting nearer and nearer. Yes, A had climbed over her cotside and escaped her cot still wearing her sleeping bag!
So yesterday evening before bed, I removed the cot side, added a bed guard I bought a couple months ago in preparation and A had her first night in a "big girl bed".
She was super excited about it, but went to sleep easily and slept through in her bed.

Eli is definitely going to keep us on our toes! This happened today (first time being laid on his tummy):

Awww Eli is just too gorgeous! Makes me extra glad that OH has agreed we can try again :o

Both nights A has slept beautifully in her new bed (cot with one side off), however she has declined a daytime sleep  and still totally needs one! Last night I heard her wake at about half 12, but she had a drink (she has a sippy cup with water) and then resettled herself until 6:25 when I heard her waking before running in to me... ooh I did enjoy not having to get out of bed to get her this morning :p

Hope everyone has a good weekend ahead? Our front door lock broke this evening, so that's our "fun" for the weekend - trying to force the door open and then replacing the door handle/lock.

Hello all. Just done fifth week back at work... (3 days a week). Getting used to it but find it hard. Baby does too - we've got to the point now where he has good days at nursery/ with grandparents but he's still unsettled and whingy when we get home. We've also had two lower molars come through taking our total to 10 teeth. Two terrible nights with them, I got just 2.5hrs sleep one night and had to get up and go to work after :(
We're looking at moving house this spring so sprucing up our place in preparation, trying to get tidy. Hard with mr messy around!!

    Hi ladies

fran, just wanted to say, I found preparation to be key so on Monday evening I put out three sets of clothes for A (I work Tues - Thurs), make sure her nursery bag is ready and have the ingredients in for three quick dinners for the next three nights.

On work days I tend to focus solely on up and out the house in the morning, home - dinner, bath and bed in the evening. Once A is in bed, I might relax, do overtime, jobs around the house but as I know everything is ready for the morning already there is no pressure if you see what I mean.
A went through phases of being fine and phases of being whingy on getting home/ screaming whilst being belted into her car seat and the (thankfully short) drive home. She is definitely worse if tired/ teething or unwell.

Last night she brought herself through to me at 00:40, climbed into bed with me and promptly went back to sleep. No idea what the problem was?? Definitely cannot have this as a regular occurrence but did not have the energy to take her back to her own bed. I did on Sunday night and two and a half hours later (with having sat on her floor for two hours) she followed me back to my bed anyway. I think its teeth with a cold she has but aaarrrrggghh! She's 23 months today - is she too young to understand a star chart?

Thanks Saffa. On the advice of a friend I've been super organised from day one... Meals and outfits planned on a Sunday for my working week Monday- Wednesday and batch cooking on weekends so there are some homemade meals in the freezer. The praciticalities are not so bad thankfully I just struggle with seeing bubba all unsettled and sad in the evenings. I know it'll get better was just in a crummy mood when I posted, sorry!!
Our next big adventure is moving house, hopefully our place will be on the market in a few weeks and we'll be on our way out of the flat into a house!

  • wow Mrs TM that's quick to roll over. I wish I had those cards with my LO, I can't remember when he first did anything now!

I never realised that kids could get so upset from nursery. My LO needs a cuddle for about 5 minutes when he gets in and then he's off causing mischief again He tends to need a cuddle when we get in from anywhere anyway or if he's woken up from a nap or sleep.

A big yes to being superorganised! I have to pick my clothes and his clothes for the next day and get my lunch for work ready.

For me the worst thing was A would scream "mummy mummy mummy" as I left the house in the mornings. OH usually drops her off, and once he had gotten her calm again she was fine when he dropped her but because she screamed when I left it made me feel as though I was abandoning her.

I think it is just wanting to reconnect with you, though it doesn't always seem positive.

I must say, seeing how A is and how her cousins/ other kids her age from play group are - she is SO much more confident than the little ones who are with a parent all the time. For me it makes me feel we are doing something right despite my choice to work part time. I want my child to be secure enough to be able to go off, knowing I will be here to catch and support her.

Hope everyone has a lovely Easter weekend. We're heading up north for the long weekend; really looking forward to our mini break
    take care ladies and littlies
