  • Afternoon Everyone :)

Horrible week, the funeral, utter sadness and grief of my friend and her family, the unreality of it all. The job and the stress of missing one day resulted in a migraine (AGAIN) and truthfully I do not know how I survived till Friday.

Had to take one my piggies to the vets 51 pounds and went out for cocktails last night 60 quid (CC)

neither of which I technically have!!

I have pretty much run out of money. I have 20 quid in my purse and 40 quid in the bank. Mum paid me back the 60 quid she owed me and I get paid on the 26th so it is not dire straits but tighter than a while.

  • had to dash off there, sorry.

My CC bill will be due the 9 th of November.

I also need to go to the vets with the rabbit (expensive little cutie pie) and the following week the Dogs (annual shots) I hope both these will come out of my savings.

Well, they will actually. Need to think about savings a bit.......since the loan fiasco with all of them lumped together............hmmm.

now I am off for a nap. cos I can cos it is Sunday.

    xx

Hope you're feeling more refreshed now Buffy. Your animals must be keeping your vet in the lap of luxury :)
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I really do. The regular vet goes on LOTS of holidays!!

I love Anton De Bec. I really do. Just had to share.

Any how, I do feel better. Really cannot take my cocktails like I used to!

    Ok. The plan

Pay 740 into the new TSB account - idea being that I can spend 500 a month and save the 240 in there to get the higher interest.

    Pay 350 into the ISA

    Pay 100 on doggie insurance

Pay 30 to the Christmas saving

    Pay 20 to Zopa.

Now, I am not sure how realistic it is but I am hoping to not always spend the 500 pounds and get my emergency fund up to 1000 (currently sort of 600 but need to pay the CC bill from somewhere) and then hide the 1000 (think tsb have a saving account not sure but could use Halifax ) and start on the having two thousand in the TSB account as well as my spending money and moving a 1000 pounds as and when to the ISA.

    30 X 4 = 120 (food and petrol)

the other expenses are going out, pets (a big one unfortunately)
    clothes, gifts, hair cuts

my hair cost 80 on Saturday :(

I used to have pots for all of them and it worked but I was getting bored! and want to spend less so hopefully the incentive of one lump to keep up will help.

I am really missing the tutoring money I must say. But have to manage without it as the time I have is lovely. the animals are cleaned out more often and I am not running on empty in quite the same way. Bit ropey recently but I am not so exhausted that I can't see what is wrong. I know right now it is the people at work.

Typically having said all that I have to shop tomorrow and going out for food on Tuesday!

I have to hoover and start to worry about the week at work so not concentrating.

    Catch you all later XXX

I love it when you come up with a plan Buffy - sounds like a good one! Made me smile about vet's holidays - I reckon the most lucrative jobs are vet or dentist, although I don't think I'd like to do either. £80 on hair!!!!!! Get a wig :)

  • Mid week. need to clean out the animals and am not going to. Stressed out of my tree by work - not the normal reasons, am currently working with someone who isn't doing their job and lies about it daily. Has an excuse for everything and will blame others at the drop of a hat. I have to keep a record and make sure I cover my back.

    And I hate it.

hopefully it is only till Christmas. And I am watching DIY SOS so in tears already!

But yeah that is the state of play. Two more get ups till freedom!

Why or rather HOW can a Sunday be this stressful?

I know Mum doesn't mean to but she still treats me like a child - and I know it is what all Mums do, it doesn't help on days like this!

I established a while ago that I would walk the dogs on Sunday - normally over the forest. The aim was to give her a day off from it. They aren't so easy to walk and she can get stressed by them barking and pulling. And for MONTHS it was fine but the last few months Mum gets super stressed if I go out "late" or if I "waste half my day walking the dogs".

She walks them every day at 9, and essentially expects me to do the same on Sundays - I know I am old and shouldn't want a lie in but it would lovely to have one day where I don't have to rush to do stuff and have her constantly waiting for me to do stuff - during the week she fusses about me leaving for work and on Saturday she fusses about my sister coming over and doing all the house work before they get here. And now Sunday she won't stop stressing over me walking the dogs - I have cut down their walk now, we don't go over the forest anymore.

And it occurred to me, this is me reacting to Mum and this is not going to help anything. The more I do what she says the more she gets to treat me like a child. And the more bloody irritated I get.

    SO. New approach.

    1. I'll walk the dogs Saturday morning - at good old nine o'clock giving Mum time to do what ever housework she wants to do. I can come home have a nice breakfast and help do the rest of the tidying. I have to get up early then any how and it would be a good incentive to have my stuff done early. Also it avoid the dogs and the Sunday football.

    2. I am going to have a lie in on Sundays. Damn it!

It is very hard to live with her sometimes - as it must be for her with me, I am back at work now and often don't get in till 6.30/7 and my work is everywhere, despite my tidying up all Summer (!) it has only taken half a term to get behind again (!). I can never finish any of my tidying projects once back at work. The conservatory is still fairly unusable (tho not entirely my fault)

Equally from my side Mum has had the same or similar routines for over 50 years and me wanting things to be different or wanting
to do my own thing. And the dogs are a bit of a problem. She does indulge them and they aren't well behaved. Well they aren't that bad. But they could be dangerous for Mum.

Still feel better for working all that out.

I am off to help a friend pack - she is moving house tomorrow. Hopefully I won't be too long. This constant need for a nap is driving me a bit nuts!
