“What we really need is affordable housing, not just social housing, for people who are in their first job, have just got a basic, simple job and a salary of £50,000 to £80,000 a year.”

What of it? I'm confused.0

So are you way out of touch as well?0

Sounds about right. Cameron, Osborne, Bojo, all old Eton boys. Never had to worry about paying a gas bill.
These people don't have a clue about the world most of us live in.0 -

Bojo got into Eton on a scholarship0 -
Actually doesn't he have a point?. Even someone on 50K a year would struggle to get on the housing ladder especially on London, which sounds ridiculous.
PS I earn between 50 and 80K and do quite a basic, simple job.0 -
He doesn't say a basic salary is £80k.
How misleading can a headline be?0 -
That is quite a normal salary in London. First job would be difficult unless it was at the top of end of banking. Household income on the other hand is easily there.0

Maybe the question that should be asked is why does someone in the top 10% of earners need financial help from the Government?
Maybe if taxes weren't so high it would help.0 -
Should someone remind him of what the average wage actually is http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-20442666.
Ps. I do quite a complex, responsible, job and earn a little more than this (but I am public sector so should be grateful for every penny :-) )0 -
I'd love a salary of £50000-£80000 up here I'd be made! Apparently the average salary up here is 17k. Although the majority of the folk I know are below that unless they work offshore0
