Yawn nu-labor propaganda. They've been desperately peddling the "tories are out of touch" line for ages now, presumably hoping that if they repeat it often enough we'll forget that it was the millionaire Ed Milliband who architected many of the policies that bankrupted the UK.
in what meaningful way is UK bankrupt?
we seem to be able to borrow money, buy imports etc0 -
"Dear Chief Secretary, I'm afraid to tell you there's no money left"
Sounds bankrupt to me. Of course since Labour haven't had the chance to p*ss endless amounts of money up the wall buying votes for the last 3 years the situation has improved somewhat.0 -

eh ... actually the government debt has increased.0 -
It always helps when there is no more money that you can simply print some more. The only thing that stopped bankruptcy was QE i.e. a bailout from the BoE.0

There is debt & there is deficit:

Clearly the economic situation has improved somewhat.
I agree with you though, that there hasn't been nearly enough austerity.0 -
it was alwys going to increase, Labour wanted to borrow much more.
It's still increased by more than it had under most of Labour in the 97-10 period.
This is where the Romanians/Bulgarians (who aren't arriving in any number to what the Daily Mail is trying to give the impression) are in a position to help the economy, especially in relation to exports.

Do you think that is a fair comparison? Why use deceit to try to prove a point?0 -
