So pleased everything’s ok Faith.
I got my scan date today, 27th December. So close to being before Christmas but not quite!0 -
That's great news Faith, so pleased everything is ok for you.
So close to Christmas Ginger! At least you have the date though now.
I was freaking out this morning as have been having some pains on and off on my left side for the last week. Google made me scared about an ectopic so paid for a private scan this afternoon as our local EPU isn't open on weekends. Thankfully everything was fine and all in the right place, saw the heartbeat too. Was dated a couple of days earlier than I thought - 7+3 not 7+5. So relieved, hadn't realised how anxious I was about everything.
Hope everyone's having a good weekend!0 -
Hi ladies, was hoping to wait until I got it confirmed by a doctor but my appointment isn't until 7th Jan...found out yesterday that I'm pregnant

Hello! Congratulations, wonderful news and incredibly happy for you and your partner. I’m 19 + 4 now.
Usually at your booking in appointment the midwife will take bloods, a lot of questions about family history, previous pregnancies etc, nothing to worry about but usually takes an hour. At mine she also booked my 12 weeks scan but I’ve found that different areas have different protocols ☺️0 -
Congrats! Bear in mind that you probably won't get your pregnancy confirmed. Doctors just use the same tests as we do (actually usually cheaper/worse ones!). They just take your word for it and generally won't test you or do blood tests to confirm pregnancy unless you have any problems such as bleeding.
Good luck!0 -
Congratulations CCJ, lovely to see you over here and what a fab Christmas present!
Just to echo what the others have said, I’m 11 weeks and still haven’t had it confirmed by a doctor. The first time anyone will check will be my scan next week!
How is everyone getting on?
I’m amazed I’ve managed to keep it a secret for so long. I’ve turned down a lot of invitations, driven to one Christmas party and pretended to drink at another and I don’t think anyone suspects a thing. I’ve even been given 2 bottles of Prosecco from work colleagues.
I’m supposed to be at a house party with close friends on Saturday which will be a bit more difficult so I haven’t decided if I’ll go yet.
Is anyone sharing the news with family over Christmas? I’d love to but don’t have my scan until 27th so I’m holding off a bit longer.0 -

Congratulations! Here’s a bit of info for your booking in appointment. I never went to the doctors, did get a phone appointment as I wanted to ask about my thyroid meds and she just said to contact reception around 8 weeks so I could get my first midwife appointment and then she did the hour appointment and booked me into the 12 weeks scan.
Gingersaurus - I’ll be 22 week Saturday and I only just told everyone on my Facebook a week last Tuesday after my 20 week scan, mainly because I’ve got a hole in the heart and wanted to see if the lil one would inherit it. Plus it’s the main scan where they do all the checks on pretty much everything so I thought I’d wait to check all was ok with him just in case.
I had told a few people and commented on a few things on different posts which I forgot would show up on some timelines so some did find out much sooner than I thought.:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:

I told my mum straight away to be fair (well she’s like septic peg and guessed), told dad around 14 weeks but said to keep quiet as I was more worrying about the 20 weeks scan. Rest I told in dribs and drabs. Then the rest found out through my Facebook post (which stopped the same 3 questions I got over and over again):T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one
