Exciting Busy! Glad it came through quickly. I was quite surprised to get details of my booking in appointment and scan at the same time.
How was your booking in appointment Ginger?
I'm getting impatient for mine, still 3 weeks to waitNausea is still there but comes in waves and only ever when I'm hungry. Also been really tired the last week, so looking forward to the weekend.
We told our parents last weekend too - both mums cried which I wasn't quite expecting! It made me quite sad though as my dad passed away 2 years ago - feel really sad he is not around, he would have made the best grandad.0 -

Ariel I know just what you mean our baby will only have one grandparent. I lost my dad when I was 5 and my mum 4 years ago next Feb. I know my mum would have been in her element and would have had the knitting needles going like crazy as I know she really wanted to be a nanny. OH lost his dad when he was 20 and he remarked the other day how sad it'll be that our baby wont have what we hadFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
My booking in appointment was pretty much as expected. Lots of form filling. The student midwife struggled to get blood from me so my first ever experience of having blood taken wasn’t pleasant and I have the bruises on both arms to prove it!
The midwife said there’s a chance I might get a scan before Christmas so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I should get a letter within the next couple of weeks.
I have a dilemma. Some promotion opportunities have come up unexpectedly at work and there’s 2 posts that I would have applied for under normal circumstances. My line manager is encouraging me to go for it but he doesn’t know I’m pregnant. These things don’t usually happen quickly and with Christmas as well, I think I’d be at least 4 months before the role began then going on maternity leave just a few months later. I’ll probably go back to work part-time at first and I’ve never known anyone not to work full-time in either of the roles.
Is it out of order to apply knowing that, if I was successful, I’d be announcing my pregnancy around the same time as starting the job?0 -
I think you should go for the job opportunity. What have you got to lose in applying? I knew I was trying when I applied for my promotion and got my BFP 5 days after I started the job. I felt so bad at first but these opportunities don’t come up very often so I’d say go for it! I even apologised to my new manager for announcing this so soon after starting my job and even he said you can’t put life on hold and these things happen so I think they’d understand!0

Hi ladies, was hoping someone may be able to help with some advice or shared experience.
I'm 11+3 of my first pregnancy and starting to get a bit anxious for confirmation that everything is OK. I had my booking in appt at 10 weeks and no date for scan yet. Was just wondering how long you all had to wait before getting a scan appt, and if you heard anything back following the booking appt ie blood test results? Not sure what is supposed to happen next and how long to leave it before chasing up - although I don't even know who I would call to chase up if I have to!
I did have a scan at 7 weeks through the fertility clinic and saw a heartbeat so I felt a bit better after that. but now I just feeling like time is going sooooo slowly and I'm starting to get nervous not knowing what is happening in there!0 -
Could you give the midwife a call? Just to ask if the scan is booked for you or you need to book yourself. And mention any bloods results.0

I got all my appointments right through to March at my booking in appointment. I have my 2 scans, consultant appointment, GIT appointments and my first midwife appointment
They said I would only hear back about my bloods from the hospital themselves if there was any concern if I remember rightly.First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
kate5555 I'd call. If you want the trisomy screening you need to have the scan in the next 2 weeks so I would expect you to have had an appointment by now.0

Thanks all. I will see if I can get in touch with the midwife to ask. She did say at the appointment that I would receive the scan date in the post but didn't say how long it would take to receive this.0

My midwife booked my scan when I was there for the booking in appointment
Specialist appointment randomly came through the door for me to see them when I was about 17 weeks
I found out my blood test results when I went for the 16 week midwife app (found out I’m anaemic but they’ve now put me on the medication after another blood test on the day I saw the midwife to see if it was still wrong).
I’d give your midwife a call unless they gave you a number to call to chase up the scan as I think you should have had it by now.:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:
