For some reason I couldn't finish posting....
I am waiting impatiently for my 12 week scan to be arranged. Hospital haven't got a referral yet. My midwife is useless. I think she just sent it off days after my appointment casually with no thought to how anxious I am this time round.
Our 8 week scan went well and we saw growth since 6 weeks and a strong heartbeat which was great but I still won't feel reassured until after the 12 week scan.
We've told all our parents now which has been lovely but they are being cautious and not talking about it too much, just asking how I am constantly - all loving the fact I have terrible nausea as they think it's a good positive sign0 -

I think it's a bad enough wait when everything has gone well but after loss it's excruciating. Can't wait for mine to come through. Got a scan tomorrow. Nervous and excited. Really hope everything is OK.
Rachlou I don't think I'll ever completely be reassured. I remember in my first thinking "after the next scan I will calm down" lol. Never happened. Then my healthy baby died, it's now about anxiety control! Hope you get your date soon.
Mary hinge I think that sounded like a good mummy thing to do, protecting superman. Hope you are OK, been thinking of you.0 -
Doc has put me on another lot of tablets to try so am keeping fingers crossed. I've got my booking appointment on Tuesday and another private scan a week on Saturday so fingers staying firmly crossed that all is still well, despite the sickness and weight loss!
Work have known for a few weeks as I'm expected to accept large deliveries and move 25L water drums so I made them aware pretty quickly but they are constantly on the phone asking when I'll feel better and can I just work on this tender, that price etc etc so I've stopped answering. Also found out my boss had told quite a few other staff when I got a congratulations message this morning so I am beyond fuming!
Telling the parents have got to be the best part of this so far - apart from the excitement of the first test! OH parents live in New Zealand, where he is from, so took a bit of planning with the time difference but they were thrilled and my parents have gone through every gynae operation with me over the past 12 years so I couldn't wait to tell them
Rachy that sounds such a pain - do you have a number for the scan department that you could ring to hurry them along?

How are you feeling Mary and sweetilemon?
Hope your scan goes well!! A couple of girls and my boss know at work, I'll tell everyone when I announce it to friends and family. I don't want everyone knowing just yet. I told everyone after my 9.5 week scan last time. I'm 9+3 to tomorrow at my scan but I'll hang off until at least after 12weeks. That's really not professional of your boss! Did you tell her no-one knew yet? I still need to tell my 2nd job but worried it will decrease my work offered because I'm zero hours.
Did you have a long journey to get here Kirsty?
I had my booking appointment on Monday, made it feel more real. Are you still at work? There is a lot of lifting in my job so im trying to be careful about what I'm doing. Especially after the bleeding but that seems to have stopped. Was really sick today so hopefully a good sign.0 -
He knew it was a secret and I asked that he kept it to himself but I'm signed off with HG at the moment and I think once that went to our accountant he presumed it would be common knowledge but I wouldn't have told anyone I didn't have to yet!
We were only trying for 11 months but I've had a lot of gynae issues which I was told a long time ago would have an impact on TTC so we pretty much dove straight into some medications, acupuncture etc etc. It was still a huge shock to get a BFP as we'd been referred to the infertility clinic at the local hospital and were due to go shortly after we found out
Bleeding stopping sounds positive, as does the sickness! Hope your 2nd job are accommodating and don't play silly beggars - when are you going to tell them do you think?
What was your booking appointment like? I'm not really sure what to expect (which is probably weird as I actually started midwifery training 12 years ago, although never finished. I feel like everything I learnt has completely disappeared out of my head)

They just go through you and your partners family medical history. Take bloods to test for different things, weigh you, check your carbon dioxide levels in your breath. Talk about what you can and can't eat, breastfeeding, how many appointments/scan's you will have and give you your baby book and info. Mine was quite lengthy as we talked about measures that will be in place to prevent my 2nd dying. I am going to have an elective section.0 -
It's my scan this morning after the school run. I feel I know the outcome but it's like my body is giving me false hope with horrendous nausea. I'm sure thats just anxiety, nerves, hunger but still.....
Kirsty, I too trained as a midwife pre superman and booking in appointments have changed alot since then, the foundations are the same but they throw in a handful of "new" things every few years. ours is a "custom" growth graph which is meant to prevent too many growth scans that aren not needed.
Hope all goes well Sweetilemon, thinking of you allLiving in a superhero induced haze :A:A

sweetilemon do you feel that they are being supportive and helping to manage your anxiety? Are you having more monitoring this time around?
