Good luck for your scan tomorrow Roz-V!
Glad it all went well samtoby - hopefully see you on the next thread. You too, saver-j!
I'm on holiday, still feeling sick, but only in the evenings, which makes it a bit easier being out and about in the day.
I bought two pairs of maternity jeans in H&M - one straight and one boot cut - they mostly only had skinny ones. I was in between sizes, but thought I'd best size up, as I remember how much my legs swelled last pregnancy! Hope you find some you like twentysomethinggirl.0 -
Hi all,
Can I join you all? We are expecting our first baby in January, according to the NHS website I am 7 weeks and 2 days with a due date of the 9th January. I feel very lucky so far (touch wood) that I have had no morning sickness. My only really symptoms have been really sore boobs and feeling very tired in the afternoon so i'm in bed by nine most nights.
I have my first midwife appointment on the 15th June, I have been reading this thread and im getting very worried about my weight. I have a BMI of 40!!! I joined slimming world in March, lost 10lbs in four weeks then feel pregnant, hadn't expected it to happen the first week we tried. i had hoped to lose a few stone first.
I'm getting worried that my weight is going to harm the baby...... I am going to re-join slimming world this week as I think its safe to do whilst pregnant.

I’m back and more determined than ever!!!!!0 -
Congrats tasha-debt. I can't adviwe on weight loss, but I had a friend recently who did sw throughout her pregnancy. She did at one point get diagnosed with gestational diabetes, but managed it really well which she put down to sw. I'm sure your midwife will discuss it with you.0

No luck with maternity trousers as yet. I have found some non-skinny jeans online but they all seem to be out stock in my size.
Scan tomorrow! Kinda nervous about it but at least it's first thing so not too much waiting. I'm not that patient!
Tasha, I did SW a few years ago and I know they do a plan for pregnant women, you have (or at least did back then) extra healthy extras to make sure you're getting enough good stuff for the baby but otherwise it seems OK. Obviously check with your midwife first and see what they advise and good luck!Mortgage £126746 DEC14 £122423.53 DEC15 £115041.70 DEC16 Remortgaged Sep17 to pay off HtB loan £150000 - £140500 JUL19 Moved house Oct19 £230000 £230400 DEC200 -
How did the scan go Twentysomething?
Congratulations Tasha!
My scan was all good again - they put me back 1 day so now I'm due on 8th Dec - OHs birthday. My parents know now, and OHs are back from holiday today so we're telling them tomorrow, and once they know our siblings and friends will be told... it still doesn't feel real!0 -
Brilliant news Roz-V! Congratulations! Hopefully it will sink in when you start telling everybody.
Welcome and congrats Tasha! Try not to worry about your BMi, the midwives will do everything they can to support you they're not here to criticise you.
My scan is Tuesday. A bit nervous, no bad signs, but i feel I've been through so much in thirteen weeks, I'll be devastated if it's bad news, I've got my head around a new addition now. Fingers crossed.0 -
Hello Ladies,
Just been reading the past couple of pages and would like to join you if you don't mind. Need to be able to communicate with others without telling any "real people" iykwim. Partly because I am still in shock. I cannot believe I am actually pregnant. I took a test on Friday, thinking I was being a complete hypochondriac. When it showed positive I thought I must be reading it wrong. So I went back later that day and bought a CB Digital. And sure enough "Pregnant". It said "2-3 weeks" since fertilisation. So around 5 weeks pregnant.
To be honest DH and I were happy with two children, and we were happily past nappies, highchairs and prams.
It was DS1's 6th birthday on the day I found out. DS2 is 3&1/2 .
I was on the pill, so it is a big surprise. Contemplated the abortion pill, but I can't do that. To me- this is already my baby. We moved into this house nearly two years ago and it needs lots of work so we were planning to borrow more money this Summer to try and get the downstairs done. Kitchen etc. Don't know how we will afford that now!
Anyway, I am sure we will make it work. I am sorry if my post upsets anyone but that is where we are at.
Anyway I am telling myself that this baby is clearly meant to be, since he/she got conceived despite me taking contraception.
Symptoms so far, a bit of nausea, my bust is massive and tender, and I swear I already have a little bump. Its like my body went, "Pregnant again... I know how to be pregnant" :rotfl:
Tasks this week:
See doc (appt Weds) and buy prenatal vitamins. (I went to Asda yesterday- but had forgotten about needing folic acid etc- another reason to join a group like this one)
I am off work this week, as I teach, so resting where I can.
Anyway, bye for now.2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

I hope your scan has gone/goes well Timeflies!
Mine went well, except for the baby wouldn't lay in the right position for the measurements for Down's testing so the lady pushed *really* hard, and then i had to go for a walk and she pushed even harder when I went back in to try and get it to move so it rolled over and ignored her!! She did eventually manage to get a good enough measurement though. It measured at 12w4d so 2 days ahead of where I was with a due date of 4th DecemberMortgage £126746 DEC14 £122423.53 DEC15 £115041.70 DEC16 Remortgaged Sep17 to pay off HtB loan £150000 - £140500 JUL19 Moved house Oct19 £230000 £230400 DEC200 -
Thanks you for your replies, I am a bit worried what the mid-wife will say, my appointment is on the 15th June, I'm a mixture of excitement and nerves!!! I am going to ask her if I can re-join slimming world, even if its to stop me putting on weight throughout the pregnancy. I have though been craving salads so maybe the baby is helping me.
Did you get your scan appointment through before your midwife appointment? I think I am 12 weeks on the 27th June, wondered how far before that I get my scan appointment. Im so excited to hear the heartbeat for the first time.

My midwife booked my scan at my first appointment, as based on the information I'd given she booked a consultant appointment for the same time. Some other people seem to get given a scan appointment via the post shortly after the booking in appointment. In my area your scan can be anything from 11-13+6 weeks and I was at the latter end.0
