Hope all goes well at your scan Pink Petal!

We have the opposite here VicVics, husband wants to wait until after the 12 week scan to tell anyone, and I'd like to tell our parents sooner. Wouldn't do it without his agreement though.

Glad you had a nice holiday Mouse. I'm having tummy ache too and that's about it, no sore boobs or sickness yet. Shouldn't complain but it would be nice to know something's happening in there!

Had my booking in appointment today. All went really well although I had completely forgot how many forms there were to be filled in and questions to be asked.
She tried to get the blood samples from both of my arms but was unable. Now not only do I have a massive bruise on each arm but I also have to go back next week for them to have another go. If she can't get the blood then I will have to go to the hospital instead to have it taken. Had the same trouble with my first pregnancy.
The midwife also confirmed that as I was found to be a Group B Strep carrier with my first I will have to try to get into the hospital early enough to get the antibiotic. Unfortunately I didn't manage it last time because I laboured too quickly so pretty worried about it as it ended up with me and my monkey having a week in hospital while she got the antibiotics.

Thanks everyone! Good news from my dads appointment. New treatment is going well (it's a clinical trial so a bit unknown) and they are very pleased with the results. It can't be cured but this seems to be keeping it from spreading. Which is fab!

Scan also went well. No apparent problems, heartbeat was clear but the wee rascal was wriggling and jumping like crazy and it took her a long time to be able to get a decent position to measure. Only meant to get two pics but she gave us about 8 and told us to hide them before we left the room! Haha! Very relieved to have this part done and we've started calling and telling people now.

Guess I need to move over to the next thread now. Good luck to everyone and I look forward to seeing you over there soon!

Great news on both counts pinkpetal.

Sorry to hear about the lack of blood vicvics - the midwife who tried to take mine with Poppy had the same problem - she tried 3 times though!! I don't know why as no-one has ever had problems before. I just hope they don't have the same issue this time as I'm a needle phobic so not so good having to have multiple goes.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Thanks everyone...about to venture into the next thread for the first time - eek!

I'm not really enjoying telling people. I have no idea why...I'm not one for fuss or announcements but OH wants to shout it from the rooftops. I completely chickened out of telling my boss this morning when the chance came up...and now I hear that I've been recommended to go on a secondment to another role...a great opportunity but one I feel would just be too much with everything I have going on and the fact I'll be finishing up before the secondment would end. I feel so torn about it!
