Amending my EDD as per what my doctor said and adding my booking in. Luckily I managed to change it to 11:20am so I can still go to work after! Definitely not going in before the appointment so I get a lie in too! :j:j

Had my scan this morning and all went well. Baby measured at 13+1 so I'm off to the next thread! Hope to see you all there in due course :j
  • Congratulations to everyone graduating, wishing you all very happy and healthy pregnancies over the next few months!

Can I get a sense check ladies? One of my colleagues is also pregnant, about 6 weeks ahead of me - she doesn't know I'm pregnant yet. We were all arranging dinner and she said she couldn't go to a number of restaurants because they can't guarantee everything's pasteurised.

It's never even occurred to me to check this. I avoid the obvious (soft cheese, pate, raw eggs, undercooked meat), but everything else I just kind of think it'll probably be OK in moderation. How strict a diet are you all following?

I think she's being over the top Black Ribboner. I'm a bit laissez-faire about the whole thing I have to admit. I don't like pate or blue cheese so that's not an issue for me, but I'm not avoiding rare meat, soft eggs, Mr whippy etc. There's definitely no need for everything to be pasteurised IMO.

Morning all :) hope you all had good weekends. We went to the zoo yesterday, was so nice to spend the day outside in the sunshine for a change after the last few weeks of miserable weather! 2 more sleeps until our dating scan, so excited it's nearly here! As it's approached I've got more and more worried that something will have gone wrong though, can't wait for Wednesday to hopefully set my mind at rest. Appointment is nice and early, so not long to wait on the morning.

  • Ah LittleMoog, you have my sympathy - the reassurance of my 8 week scan lasted all of a couple of days before I started worrying that something will go wrong before next week's dating! Will be keeping everything crossed for you, less than 48 hours to go now :j

    Good Luck LittleMoog.

I wish appointments would cone round quicker. I'm waiting for the midwife to arrange my booking in at the moment.

Most my symptoms seem to of stopped over the weekend, not that I had many to start with, I don't know if that's a good thing or bad.

kroberts I empathise - just home from the doctor's to report the pregnancy and to arrange midwifery care. I have to wait to hear from the midwife about when the booking in will be. I seem to remember having to chase this last pregnancy as I think the midwife was on holiday, and it ended up being when I was 9 weeks or so I think. I have unfortunately been absolutely shattered, and mentioned this to the doctor today, so now have the pleasure of early blood tests on Friday to test my iron levels and thyroid (I have a phobia of needles that never improved in my last pregnancy so not looking forward to this at all).

Can't wait to hear news of your dating scan LittleMoog. Hope the next day goes quickly for you. Good news about the early appointment too, as it means less time crossing your legs when you've drunk all the water. lol
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Think I've posted this in the past. But around here, you self refer directly to the midwife department at the hospital. They take details and then send out a letter within a few days with your booking appointment details - date/time.

Then the midwife at booking appointment books your dating scan in over the phone, while you're with her so you can choose the best date/time available.

Works well, don't know why other trusts don't do the same!

Wish they did that here Freddie - last time I was pregnant I only saw my actual midwife a couple of times as she was always on holiday. Then my scans I had no choice over times.
