Thanks AFS, I do feel very virtuous having waited nearly 9 weeks between BFP and scan
You're not the only sleeper. I can't remember the last time I didn't fall asleep in front of the TV at night! I'm eagerly awaiting this 2nd tri burst of energy I've heard so much about...
I took my OH to my booking in appointment. He wanted to be there anyway, and the midwife was more than happy to direct what she was saying to the both of us. I think it's important that OHs feel as involved as possible from as soon as possible
And with that, I'm officially off to the next thread. I shall of course lurk here, but if I don't rear my head at any point I wish you all the best with the rest of the 1st tri, & look forward to seeing you all on the next board after lots of healthy, happy scansTC x

Good luck on the next thread Rebekah and Claire. Hope to see you there in a fortnight.
A fresh start - my booking appointment was done at home and only took 15mins. MW said it was the quickest booking shed ever done. Only thing OH is needed for his his family history of genetic disease or multiple miscarriages. I had that information so didn't subject him to a very boring appointment. It's all questions and box ticking. OH will of course be at all the scans.
Finally got my nhs scan date through and it's not until 13+4 (10th feb). Which means it will have taken 5 weeks from booking till scan. No wonder my trust aren't entertaining starting the NT scan, they can barely cope with getting everyone seen between 10 and 14 weeks for dating.0 -
Has anybody else had their booking in appointment at a Sure Start Centre? I lived in a different area when PG with DD and midwife came to my house and then I popped to the doctors to have blood drawn. I have my appointment on Friday at Sure Start Centre (or what used to be a SSC anyway!) I'm wondering if I'll have blood drawn then, as my doctors doesn't offer that service. My mum recently had to have blood taken and she had to travel into the city to have it taken at one of the hospital buildings!
Bit nervous about it as I passed out when I had travel vaccinations done a year ago! It's never happened before that but I have very well hidden veins and spent a large proportion of my 1st pregnancy having nurses and doctors take turns trying to get something out of me!
Morning sickness is now underway. Been feeling queasy for a couple of weeks but had 1st "episode" this morning. The school run could become interesting! I was pretty bad with DD and the sickness didn't completely go until about 32 weeks, so fun times ahead! Thankfully I work from home.
Hope everybody is getting on ok. Looking forward/nervous about early scan next Tuesday.0 -

My bloods are being done at the same time as my dating scan. So you may find that's how they do it. At least it's at the hospital!
Sorry to hear about the morning sickness, I've managed to avoid vomiting but have wretched a few times. Yuck.0 -
Hi all,
I'm not really sure if I am in the right group here or not, I have literally no idea how pregnant I am!
I took my test nearly two weeks ago, but due to how irregular my periods are it could be anything up to 8 weeks or so, or possibly even more.
I am due to see the doctor on Friday, the earliest I could get in.
I've had a couple of weeks of feeling queasy, and yesterday all hell broke loose at work!
I am trying to hold off telling my employers until I have at least seen the doctor, but not sure how long I can hide it for. Luckily another lady at work went down with a stomach bug last week!
This is my first pregnancy so its all new to me, so I may need guiding through a few things, thanks in advance!0 -
Thanks Pm.
Hi Katy. You could try doing one of the Clear Blue digital tests to narrow it down a bit? Although it will only tell you if you're 3-4 weeks, 4-5 weeks or over 5 weeks gone.
TMI alert! I've been suffering with what I think is really bad trapped wind. It always comes on after my evening meal and the pain is excruciating, keeping me awake most of the night. Tried taking some Rennies last night but didn't help. Don't remember having problems like this with my 1st! Any experiences/suggestions greatly received!0 -
Hello all,
I've been keeping quiet recently as I've been very nervous up until our 12 week scan today. But all is as it should be and we have one very fidgety healthy baby. Our measurements put us at 13 weeks today, so needless to say I will be moving on up to the next thread, eeeek!
Needless to say I shall continue to lurk, but for now huge congratulations to all newbies and I look forward to seeing you all on the next thread.

Lisajane- how did your scan go?
It's really quiet on here- everybody doing ok?
I had my booking in app on Monday- 1.5hours! It was very thorough with bloods, etc taken. I've my next mw app booked and everything. Having never used the NHS for anything other than birth control, I'm very impressed so far.
Seems I have lost 5lbs since before Christmas, OH reckons it's all muscle since I've not been working out. Knocked the smile off my face that did!
Just waiting for the 12w scan on 9th feb....wishing my life away:rotfl:0
