  • It was probably one of the nastiest migraines I've had - my OH had to come and pick me up! And it's not like I can even tell work I'm preggo at the moment so I'm hoping it doesn't happen again. I get them relatively infrequently so as far as I can tell I don't have any specific triggers like food, I genuinely think they're hormone related as I barely had any on the mini pill and that has no oestrogen in it. My head still feels fuzzy today, so I'll definitely talk to the Midwife about it next week. It doesn't help that I could only take paracetamol!

Ooooh, exciting that you might have an appointment this afternoon! Let us know how it goes :)

*sobs* I forgot about the smoked salmon... Gutted. :( And the brie...

As long as the brie is cooked, you're fine. ;)

It's the smoked salmon (or rather, the lack of it!) that literally makes me want to sob when I think about xmas. That and smelly cheese! Thank god Stilton is on the NHS's ok list.

Had my first (what I assume) pregnancy related migraine yesterday at 5+2. I used to get Aura migraines several times a year, and it was the reason I got swapped from the combined to the mini pill. I completely forgot that with the influx of oestrogen there was a high risk they'd come back, until I'm sat at work yesterday & the whole left side of my vision blurred :( Really hoping it was just something my body needed to get out the way, and it won't be a regular thing - it's crippling.

Glad everyone's scans have gone OK - I can't wait for mine, but it won't be until some point in January.

Hang on what?! We cant have salmom? I eat it all the time
  • Just smoked salmon, because it's cured rather than cooked. Although you can cook smoked salmon, I just don't like it as much. You're fine with salmon like you are with a lot of fish, just make sure it's cooked properly :)

Oh, Mrs_T_M, you make me SO happy!!! :j:j:j How are you and bump doing?? :)

Claire: Just take it easy. I remember the horrible fuzzy days that followed a migraine all too well. Fingers crossed you don't get another one.

No midwife appointment for me this afternoon after the community midwives office got my hopes up, my midwife has just rang - but got it booked for next Wednesday as they want to get me in the system nice and early. So, duly updating the list once more!

Doing well! Just hit 27 weeks today, so there's only 10-13 weeks before we get to meet our little one if I don't go over or early!

Oh my goodness, 27 weeks?! That seems to have gone so quickly! So thoroughly thrilled for you that there's so little time to go. :) Any tips for getting through the very nervous early days?? I'm constantly comparing this pregnancy to when I was pregnant with Thomas and automatically fearing the worst, which I know is natural to some extent, but would love to know anything you did that helped you with this pregnancy.

Back to the food discussion... I've just been re-reading through the info for my friend's wedding (like a good bridesmaid) and just realised there is an additional course of scallops... I've just googled it and some places say scallops are fine, others say not as they're filter feeders. Any advice, anyone?!

Edit: Scrap that, NHS website seems to give some pretty good advice - basically avoid unless you can guarantee they are well cooked, which I can't really without giving the game away. Lucky hubby getting double portions!

God knows what amazing reason I'm going to have to come up with for not drinking the free alcohol, eating the smoked salmon, pate *and* potentially scallops to boot...

Had so much wind last night from stomach right through to anus lol. My stomach still feels off and weird today. Not quite sick but jsut really really off and I don't want to eat. Oh the joys of pregnancy! ... I could sleep for England still too No energy to tidy up. A right bag of fun I am today.
  • I'm feeling a bit off today Rebekah so you have my sympathy. Not particularly ill, just slightly queasy and a bit spaced out. And frequenting the bathroom every 30 mins - funsies.

I'm really feeling for you Mrs_I, that wedding food sounds amazing :( It was only after a few BFPs that I realised I hadn't made the most of rare steak, soft cheese and pate - why didn't I have a fridge full in my tww?!
