It's £4 per photo here. They normally take a few screen shots and then let you decide which 1, or 100, you would like printed off. I remember when I had to have a dating scan last time round and because DS was so teeny weeny (8 weeks) she said she wouldn't charge because there wasn't too much to see.
Yes! I can't wait to see him/her again! Even less time to wait between scans though I guess. I'm so desperate to know the sex! I just want to know whether I can buy lots of pink, or wash all the blue stuff in the loft hehe

I will have to make sure I ask my midwife how much it is down here and how it works about paying for them (ie I never have cash on me so if I need change I will have to make sure I have some on me!!)
I can't decide whether to find out the sex. I always said I wouldn't, but that in reality it may be too tempting to find out and oh would rather know, so I will have to see how we feel when it gets closer to the 20 week scan.0 -
The last 3 days consistently my sickness has been worse and very intense in the middle of my evening meal! It makes me stop eating and has me thinking of lord do I run for the bathroom or sit it out. Usually only lasts 5 mins but is pretty nasty!0

May I join??
I'm 28, my DH is 29 and we've been married for 2.5 years and we've just found out we are expecting our second baby. Our history in very brief form: I was on this thread at the beginning of this year when I was expecting our first baby, but sadly we miscarried at 20 weeks in April (and suffered numerous complications afterwards). So needless to say, we are feeling very apprehensive about this pregnancy, especially as I am spotting just like I did when I was pregnant with our son.
I am currently 4w 3d, so it is very early days. Currently feeling very few symptoms, other than irrational mood swings and a bit of a bubbly tummy - which is pretty much the same as last time too. I need to get in contact with my consultant and put into action our treatment plan for this pregnancy. Hopefully I will feel a little bit better once I've seen her and got the wheels in motion.

Also- why are most starters on Christmas menus things that pregnant people can't eat?? Like all menus seem to have prawns, pate and brie!!
Missed this yesterday, but I can definitely relate. Everything I want off of any starter anywhere isn't suitableOr if it is, it's got a nice runny quails egg on top. Even though I could ask them not to put it on, I am just so annoyed that I end up picking something I can have, because if I can't have the quails egg on top, I might as well not have it at all.
My FIL makes the best chicken liver pate with apricots at Christmas, which I can't have this year. As soon as I found out I was pregnant, it was the first thing I said to my OH, I was that devastated. Oh, and that I can't ski in February!
ThinkPink, we found out with DS as OH was so desperate to know. I would've been happy with a surprise but he persuaded me. It only makes sense for us to find out again so we know what we're doing. We've got quite a few neutral bits anyway that we kept, so would be nice (especially at the end of the christmas sales) to see if we could get a few bits.
Hugs to you RebekahR, it is horrible and I really hope it passes for you soon. Just keep telling yourself it's worth it, although sometimes it does make you wonder!
Congratulations Mrs_I!! Best to get booked in with the doctor/midwife asap, I imagine they would like to monitor you more closely. I'm sorry you had to go through that, and with all the added complications, I can understand your apprehension. We're always here for reassurance and support as I'm sure you know!

Thank you, RingToBe! I'm still waiting to hear back from my specialist/bereavement midwife, who said she'd get the ball rolling when the time came, but it will happen soon enough. Like you say, they will want to watch me closely and give me reassurance when I need it, but at this very early stage I doubt there is much they could do! Thank you for the kind words re: our loss and the nightmare that followed; it was horrific (details are somewhere on the miscarriage thread) but - trying to get a positive from it - it really has bought DH and I closer than ever, which I didn't think was possible. It is lovely to have this thread here for support and reassurance, especially as no one else in our lives knows about us being pregnant again.
ThinkPink, I know *exactly* how you feel re: the Christmas meals being things us pregnant ladies can't eat! I am bridesmaid at a wedding this weekend and I've somehow got to hide the fact I can't eat at least two of the courses for similar reasons... Never mind the fact I won't be drinking!! And I definitely don't want the bride knowing, I don't want to be seen stealing her thunder!

I really hope that all goes well and you get the support and reassurance that you need. And you know that we are here for you to talk to as much as you like.
I had been going on about how I was going to have brie for my starter at the work meal, then a few days later found out I was expecting- suddenly I could only manage 2 courses!! :rotfl: And I have a family meal soon and the starter is pate- luckily I think only my Mum and sisters know that in reality I love pate, but I can easily say I don't and no one else will click (everyone else moaned that prawns weren't on the menu- I thought 'Yes, thank goodness for that' as all my family know I love prawns!!
On Christmas day I said I would just not have a starter but oh feels bad and wants us to have something I can eat, I just have no idea what!! I was wondering whether to look for something like mushroom and puff pastry based (I had something similar before and it was really nice, I;m just not sure I can be bothered!!:rotfl:)
Has everyone else found that they have suddenly become designated driver over the Christmas period!!??0 -
Mrs_I, it sounds like the midwife has already got things in hand for you. I'm sure it will come round really quickly and you'll get all the support you need throughout. I think it's great that you and DH are closer. It's unfortunate that some couples tend to look for blame in their other halves when something goes wrong, so it's really refreshing to see those who help each other through. It sounds like he will be nothing less of a rock for you should you need him.
ThinkPink, I am still having a prawn cocktail for Christmas Day starter! As long as the prawns are cooked properly, make your own sauce (really really easy) there's no reason you still can't enjoy it. Humph. I will not let this pregnancy get in the way of my food. Except pate. And dippy eggs. And a nice medium steak...
I don't mind being designated driver, even when I wasn't pregnant. There's nothing more satisfying than knowing you won't wake up feeling like utter cr*p the next day wondering what state you were in the night before, and how you even got homeDS born 30.08.13 :happyhear

It's the smoked salmon (or rather, the lack of it!) that literally makes me want to sob when I think about xmas. That and smelly cheese! Thank god Stilton is on the NHS's ok list.
Had my first (what I assume) pregnancy related migraine yesterday at 5+2. I used to get Aura migraines several times a year, and it was the reason I got swapped from the combined to the mini pill. I completely forgot that with the influx of oestrogen there was a high risk they'd come back, until I'm sat at work yesterday & the whole left side of my vision blurredReally hoping it was just something my body needed to get out the way, and it won't be a regular thing - it's crippling.
Glad everyone's scans have gone OK - I can't wait for mine, but it won't be until some point in January.DS - 08/15

*sobs* I forgot about the smoked salmon... Gutted. And the brie... Oh, Christmas is going to be seriously tough!
That migraine sounds seriously nasty, Claire - make sure you mention it to your midwife. I also suffer from migraines, a lot less than I used to and they were very adamant that I needed to keep an eye on them when I was pregnant. Any idea what else could have triggered it, other than influx of oestrogen??
As for me; my specialist midwife has been in touch and she is getting on the case in terms of getting me in the system and an appointment sorted with my consultant. I've also been told to get in touch with the community midwives, which I have done - I might be able to get an appointment this afternoon! Suddenly feeling very real all of a sudden!
