Angel ouch I hope mine doesn't last to long. I drink lots of water anyway but not found its helped.

I've got to get my permanent crown put on tommorow. It turns out I had an X-ray in very early pregnancy :( and lots of work to put the temp crown on. I hope its not caused any probs.
  • Yey for happy scans! No idea how I will manage to wait another 8 or 9 weeks for mine! I had a call from the midwife today to arrange my booking in appt. I thought it would be a quick 2 minute chat but she asked me lots of questions so I had to crouch in the corridor at work and keep on the lookout that
no-one I knew was around, lol. Also been to see the GP to check that flying in the first trimester will be safe. Got the thumbs up as expected but bit concerned about the possibility of needing hospital care while abroad if anything was to happen. Anyone on this thread planning a trip soon?

I'm moving to Cyprus at the beginning of August. I should be about 13-14 weeks by then so hoping flying won't be an issue. As for the medical care, I will be under military care once we arrive in Cyprus so I've no worries on that front!

Still counting down the days until my booking in apt next Monday, time really drags when you're waiting for something!!

Bleugh feel like I've been hit by a bus, heads killing feel wiped out and tearful/low.
  • Hi all,

We found out at the weekend that I am expecting our first 15th Feb next year! (Told hubby by getting him a fathers day card with just 'Surprise!' written in it :p )

Its still not feeling very real. We've only just moved house (end of may) and decided to stop 'trying-not-to' and I never dreamt things would happen this fast. Obviously I am really happy its happened but its just...strange.

I don't really have any symptoms either, just really tired mid-afternoon and normal pre-period style cramps. I suppose I should be glad that the nausea hasn't set in yet.

Got Drs appointment early next week so maybe things will start to feel more real then?

    Welcome captainst.

What a quick bfp :) I hope you dodge the ickyness.
  • Thanks Part Mouse, tbh I feel a little silly posting about things not feeling real because it happened quick when I have read so many stories of people ttc for ages.

Congratulations to all those with good scans, I'm 9 weeks now and am waiting to hear back from hospital whether I'm immune to parvovirus (slapped cheek) as one of the children in school has it and I may have been exposed to it. My scan can't come around soon enough! Hope everyone else is keeping well.

    I'm back (23+2) for a bit of delurking :o

Amazing how quickly I forget. Yes I had more headaches in pg. I forget if it's hormones or increased blood flow. You can take a paracetemol but I also found drinking lots of water helpful.

PM- don't know about your area but I went to a walk in centre with a suspected UTI. I was there at 7.50, it opened at 8am and by 8.20 I had walked out having my wee tested and cleared. That would NEVER have happended at my GP surgery.

Lots of (not all) IAPT - increasing access to psychological therapies - services permit self referral. Try googling or if you feel comfortable and want a hand, feel free to pm me your location and I can look for you. This then bypasses the GP stage - you are right, they vary MASSIVELY. Persistance can work (they refer as they get fed up) or changing which GP you see (increasing chance of meeting a sympathetic one). I imagine it would help to have some support through coming off meds.

I have no idea about the impact of x-rays. my recall about drinking alcohol before you know is that in the very early stages the alcohol will either have no affect or would cause the pg to never have conceived (if that makes sense). However check Emily Oster, Expecting Better if you get it. SHe knows best.
