Part Mouse, congratulations! Just delurking from the next thread up to say I had cramping and pain ALL the way through the first trimester (actually, I still get quite a bit in the second too!) and I only realised from discussing it on here that lots of ladies get it too. The things no one tells you! Obviously if it is really bad the right thing is to get checked out, but I hope it is a little bit reassuring to hear it is very common. In fact my first 'pregnancy symptom' 5 days before my period was even due was really nasty cramps and then they pretty much stuck around! I had absolutely no idea it was a common symptom. I have since been trying to tell all my not-pregnant-yet friends about it so when/if it happens to them they won't freak out...
obviously I am not saying people shouldn't get checked out if they are worried, but hopefully it might reassure some people to know it is quite common.
Congratulations again and wishing you a very boring mine months!0 -
Daisiegg thanks
I just just worried as iv'e only got one open tube and a lot of adheasions after a burst appendix.I was dreading an ectopic, twisted ovary etc.
Its good to hear though thats its pretty common and usually nothing to worry about.Looks like iv'e got a water infection so will see about that tommorow.0 -
Afternoon all :-)
Well I'm in panic mode as two sleeps to go.... I thought a lot of my symptoms were due to the pregnancy but have since been put on anti biotics due to an infection and am now panicking that all my symptoms have gone like last time x0 -
Toft i really hope all is ok for you. Ive got everything crossed.0

PM just be aware that you may not see very much, if anything, on a scan tomorrow. You are still really early if you assume that OV day is 2 weeks (which is should be). I think that makes you effectively 4 weeks, and I had a scan at 6 weeks which just showed a sac and no heartbeat.
My IVF followup scan wasn't until 8 weeks, which is when they saw the heartbeat and something that looked like a jellybean!0 -
*de-lurking*
toft and partmouse - I always find scans very stressful and I've only had the conventional 12 and 20 week problems with no medical history so can't imagine how the stress increases. Ironically the stress caused me to have LESS pg symptoms prior to them so really hope this is what is happening for you toft.
PM - I have lurked a little on the ttc 12+ thread as I have a friend going through this and she doesn't like to talk about it so I try to read online to try to anticipate what it might be like for her with me being pg. She is a lovely friend and I am trying to avoid unintentional hurt. Therefore I have seen bits and pieces of your journey - CONGRATULATIONS and here's to an uneventful pg.
I got lots of cramping for the first 6 weeks at least and since then it has been off and on. However I never had severe pain and I never had bleeding. FYI on the bleeding side we do have people on our thread (daisiegg being one I am sure she doesn't mind me saying) who have bleed through pg and it still ends up successful in the end. Just trying to say it's a confusing time - sometimes the symptoms mean something is wrong, sometimes it's just part of pg but you are always right to get it checked out. Just don't let that little voice convince you it must be bad. There is always hope. :T
