Ours is 6 hours tomorrow too Claire
When we were chatting yesterday, it was quite obvious that none of the other ladies had trouble conceiving so I just kept quiet! I did get slightly annoyed when one of them spoke to me like I was stupid about giving up alcohol though..!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
Got a few bits in aldi last night. Bought the avent bottle starter kit and the microwave sterilizer, plus some more muslins! At least then if for any reason I cant breast feed Ill be ready, and will be useful anyway if I manage to express.
Also, am I right in thinking that baby will need water as well as milk from time to time and Ill need a bottle for that anyway.

Like adults, babies and young children need to drink plenty of fluids to avoid becoming dehydrated.
If you're breastfeeding your baby, you don’t need to give them water as well as breast milk. However, they may want to breastfeed more than usual.
If you’re bottle feeding, as well as their usual milk feeds, you can give your baby cooled boiled water throughout the day. If your baby wakes at night, they’ll probably want milk but if they’ve had their usual milk feeds, try cooled boiled water as well.
I hope everyone is ok todayI've just worked out that I've only got 9 working days left! :T
Here's hoping DS's room gets finished in time so I can get all the baby's stuff unpacked and ready!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Just had 34 week midwife appt, all looking good. Measuring 34 cm so spot on there (although I still put my dates at around 33 weeks but still not too far out!) felt for position of baby and is head down which is good! Poor thing, what I thought was her bum is most likely her head!! Back facing right way too so all bodes well so far!!

Glad the appointment went well Squirrel
Sounds like you've all been having good classes too! Lovely to hear what you've been learning since I haven't been to any!
Mrs TM, that's so lovely of you to offer your milk to babies in need.FWIW I wouldn't have an issue using donated milk if my baby needed it. I watched something about breastfeeding a couple of years ago and the people in SCBU/NICU were saying how desperate they were for donated milk for the preemies.
Been having period-type cramps since yesterday... not sure what it means but it's not very comfortable!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Hi all
The girl from NCT I shared a due date with had her baby yesterday... So far our group has 6 babies: Evan, Daniel, Isabela, Isabella, Chloe, and now an Annabelle. Only me and one other still to pop. I am bouncing on my ball and wondering if a curry might be a good idea for tonight!
Had a nice day, auntie and uncle popped in for coffee, watched a movie and now just bouncing and waiting for hubby to come home...
Hoping silence from Jemb means another safe arrival x

FWIW I wouldn't have an issue using donated milk if my baby needed it. I watched something about breastfeeding a couple of years ago and the people in SCBU/NICU were saying how desperate they were for donated milk for the preemies.
I've expressed colostrum so far, and I hope that someone can use it, even with the citalopram that I'm taking. I have made an appointment with the GP to either be weaned off of the medication (which was the plan for my last trimester anyway) or be switched over to something more compatible with breast milk. I just did what I could in Dale's baby book. That was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be, but it provides a bit of closure and comfort knowing that I have it.
I'm still reading every day, sort of living vicariously through you ladies (I hope you don't mind!) and cheering at all of your triumphs!0 -

I know one couple had trouble but only because DH's client at work is her friend and told him she was going to be on our course.
What she thought you were stupid for giving up alcohol in pregnancy?:eek:0 -

Yeah! I don't have any issues with anyone having the odd drink but when I said I hadn't had any at all even over Christmas she was really condescending!!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -

How can you be condescending about that?! That is really weird!
I can see how someone could be the other way round, (not that I would be) but thats just strange! I mean what is she advocating you get piS%d?
Tomorrow I think we're covering a lot of baby care stuff - should be interesting as some people said they've never changed a nappy before and a couple of the guys are worried just about holding a baby. So will be practicing on dolls - atleast then the guys wont be worried about 'breaking' the babies :rotfl:0
