Evening, it's lovely to see so many new ones.
It is amazing fizzwizz that what you think is frizzy hair with the right products and tools how it can be curly. I have wavy hair, it was curly when it was shorter but I have been growing my hair for the last couple of years after a hair dresser got a little too happy with the scissors and made such a mess of my hair I ended up with two steps instead of layers. I have not been back since I have reverted back to having my mom cut my hair as she did when I was a child. I am the only female on both sides of the family not with dead straight hair I did not like it as a child but love it now.moneyless_mac wrote: »
I had another failure today with 2 more imperial leather fruity flavour shower gels - grapefruit and mango. With enough shower gel in my stash to wash most of the UK for a week these were not needed.
You made me laugh. I have the same problem just because I have enough I still buy more.
UU's
BS spiced vanilla body butter 200ml WNBA I do like the scent but bought so many of these I am so happy to now only have one other to use.
Ruby red slipper bubble bar WNBA not my favourite.
Snowman ballistic WNBA like the product and it makes the water so silky, I had forgotten about all the how much cocoa butter was in it which sticks to the side of the bath. Atleast I got to use more shower gel to clean the bath.
Shine like a celeb, diamond sparkle body cream WDNBA the was from a beauty box last year. Why oh why do manufacturers think I want to be covered with glitter, I too old for glitter. I think they may think I was strange if I went to work sparkling. This was repurposed as shaving cream, it worked really well. Thank you to the person who suggested this as another way of using body lotion.
Perfume oil sample ( can't remember name) WNBA not my sort of scent so I used it with an old wax tart and it worked really well scenting my room.
AEOS cleansing oil WNBA the product was okay but I am not overly keen on oil cleansers especially liquidy oil cleansers.
TA
Bomb cosmetics blackcurrent sugar buff WDNBA I hated the smell of this product, so artificial that strong it made me feel nauseous everytime I used it. It was a GWP and I have put the last third in the bin as I just hate the scent.
Now the naughty
14 items from a tiny company that I love that is shutting shop for now. I know I did not need any more bath bombs or sugar scrubs or body lotions or whipped soaps but I failed to resist. I will get fined £70 for this purchase and it cost me half this but I will have to learn one way or another. It was a bargain in my eyes which is my down main fall.
I still have other "bargains" to arrive and will again get fined for this. I am going to be so broke if I carry on this way.0 -
Nothing much to report, various splutters, seem to be getting through a lot of products this month already! Off to Boots tomorrow if I remember just to see whether its worth a visit for 75% off on Wednesday really. I probably won't get there until lunchtime unless there's anything I really have my eye on:)Debt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -

This is my HG bodycare line. I LOVE the scent and the foaming shower gel is my favourite and my best. I use it with a loofah mitt to exfoliate and follow with the matching body cream. I too got the mini size and thought I would keep it for "best"; now it's all I use in the shower. The joy is, a little goes a long way, I have been using the same full size since the end of October and it's still goingI don't have straighteners and not sure if I have a diffuser, is there anything else I can try
I'm far from an expert and still have the odd bad hair dayUnfortunately, there's often a lot of trial and error involved in discovering what suits you and your hair. Some people swear by conditioner-only washing (not using sulphates and as a result, avoiding silicones). Others stay away from silicones too but kind their hair is fine with a 'normal' wash. Some lucky b*ggers individuals can use anything they like and their hair looks great -- an old friend of mine used to wash her curls with clarifying shampoo, NO conditioner and use a tonne of mousse and she always looked great  whereas I would look like I'd been electrocuted if I tried that.
On the whole, curly/wavy hair tends to be thirstier than straight hair so lots of moisture is always a good start. If you're interested in conditioner-only washing and avoiding silicones, you'd be best off googling Curly Girl method or modified CG method, there is a wealth of information online already, put far more succinctly than I ever could (waffle?! Me?!)
I have discovered, personally, that my hair likes silicones in the short term (doesn't frizz as they coat the hair shaft and stop excess moisture absorption from the atmosphere) but dislikes them in the long term (because they coat the hair and stop moisture absorption from the atmosphere -- see what I mean about it being a bit of a headache?!). My hair appreciates protein as it is coloured and still somewhat damaged. YMMV. All I can suggest is do a bit of reading and try out some of the 'techniques and products and see what works for you.Twisted_Cherry wrote: »Oh I do love my waves and curls... never use to but I do now I am older. When I was at school (many moons ago!) I hated my curls, because my hair was so thick and frizzy. I would get little OAP's coming up to me at the bus stop saying how much they would love to have hair like mine, and how it would save them a fortune on having perms! I use to be really embarrassed but now I see where they were coming from! :eek:She has the most beautiful curls, much more uniform and lovely than mine, and every time I see her reaching for the straighteners my heart sinks. But then I remember, no one could tell me anything at age 14 either so why should she be any different?

2 little UU to declare:
Another Lush Cinders bath bomb - WBA love the way I can still smell it hours after my bath.
Sample sachet Green people 24 hour brightening cream - WMBA the sample was OK but hard to judge if its great from a couple of applications. No more buying toiletries0 -
Twisted Cherry - I tried one of those straightening kits after finding one for a similar price, I have a lot of hair, thick and down to my elbows, yet it still only took about half to do it, so I have half saved for another time. It smells like the stuff they use to do perms bleh! But really worked for me. I've kind of grown out of straightening my hair, when I was at uni the fashion at home for nights out was straightened hair, at uni it was big back combed hair...it was quite funny. It didn't keep it straightened for a long time maybe 2 days, then the odd kink, but still thats a miracle usually my hair wont last a hour! But it did make it smoother, and very shiny, and so so so much easier to handle. My hair is really unruly, I just breathe and knots appear, brushing it can be so painful, but I really found this stuff helped with that too
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

All this talk about hair is so weird. I have always had straight hair, not poker straight but fairly straight but whenever I have tried to grow it in the past I give up as it goes weird. Last year I decided to grow it again, over the summer (ear length) it started being a pain, kinking and frizzing and I thought it was the humidity or me getting warm that was doing it. Now it is two inches below chin length and it has (if I let it) gone into full, frizzy curls. The straightners will keep it smooth all day but next morning the curls are back.
Yesterday I decided to go with the curls and do the plopping method (sort of) I had full curls all day but it was frizzy too, and I blooming hated it, it doesn't look like me. Today it is blow dried straight but the bottom two inches are turning curly.
I have two uu
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye - 5ml, this was a GWP and it was really nice but you just never know whether anti-ageing things are having an effect so would use again but probably will just stick with the Clinique eye cream I like.
Philosophy Pure Grace Body Lotion - 30ml - Gorgeous, WBA and already have a full size in the stash.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Ooh which Smashbox palette is this? I am eyeing up the Too Faced Chocolate bar eyeshadow palette now. Saw some reviews yesterday and it looks lovely. Rather pricy though at £45. Going to wait until I get my Debenhams beauty club points through and then buy it I think or wait for a 10% off. Not sure when they will next do the 10% off, hopefully soon.

Just been looking at some empties posts on some beauty blogs and found myself thinking 'you call that empty?' Loads of the things still had the dregs in the bottom, I couldn't bare to not UU the last bit :money:
I have another UU to declare. Yesterday I got the very last bit of the L'Occitane Shea Butter handcream out of the scrunched up tube donated to me by my friend. I ended up sticking the rubber end of my pencil into the top to get it out!! Didn't tell anyone apart from you ladies though, not sure they would understand. :rotfl:Twisted_Cherry wrote: »
In Boots browsing at the sales (again!) and No7, but resisted temptation despite the offers in the sales and the fact I have a £5 and £3 voucher of No7 :T
I do have an IN to report as well. Remember I was saying about looking out on the Boots 75% off sale for handwash for work. Well I caved at weekend and bought one of the Royal Jelly sets at 50% off as I considered that at £4.00 it was a good saving. I am low on hand cream too for work so I thought £4.00 now would be cheaper than buying a separate hand wash and hand lotion when needed. I think though that once this hand wash is used up I will try replacing it with shower gel for work.
Was quoting Twisted Cherry though as even though I earned another one of those vouchers when I bought the above set I've not used it though I did have a look at No.7 make up and after seeing the new highlighter in their mag this month was sorely tempted to get one. Didn't bother though as I still have a tube of Benefit Pearl Meets Girl on the go and a bottle of Sunbeam. The applicator on the No.7 one looks really good though and the consistency of the product is not as runny as the Benefit ones so once they've gone I think I'll treat myself.
I don't list my make up items for this challenge but am quite proud of the fact that I have one make up bag that I keep my products in everyday use in, one that I store my extra make up in and a tin full of lipglosses (these are my make up achilles heel) so don't really feel that I have too much make up.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. noelphobic wrote: »There were loads and loads of boot type slippers by the tills, so they must be desperate to get rid of them! There were 3 designs and one of them was identical to the ones I bought in last years 75% off sale. Strange how they've 'found' them after a year, as I very much doubt they would have been part of this year's range. I have a bit of a slipper 'habit' so I won't be buying any for the foreseeable future!
I've been in two branches of Boots over the weekend and both had loads of these Ugg type slippers in. Wouldn't mind, but I don't think either store had them in before the Sales.rosemary54 wrote: »still the upside is I can,t possibly do any house work:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
