found 6 tubes and bottles of various sunscreens in the spare room there must all be over 5/6 years old so they are all going to be binned as some are starting to go watery and i dont think they will offer any protection at all come the summer.SPC~12 ot 124

KT - your makeup obsession rivals mine. I have seen the Too Faced palette but am ignoring it as I will already have several other versions of every colour in another set.
noelphobic - good luck with your voluntary work. Is there any chance it will lead to something paid?
FizzWhizz - well done for doing a stock take hopefully that will help you stop buying more.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I was planning to just visit one town today after a hospital appointment first thing, instead I ended up visiting 3 all on public transport!
5 IN'S to declare...
DOVE ORIGINAL ANTI-PERSPIRANT ROLL ON 50ML x 2 [Bought as they are a £1 in Poundland or was it Poundworld and I only have 1 spare in my current stash!]
VIRTUAL BRANDS EDT OVERDOSE 50ML x 1 [Simply because it was a £1 and I really love this often not available in my local Home Bargains!]
CAREX ALOE VERA HAND GEL 50ML x 1 [Bought for my handbag for my upcoming holiday... these are smaller than the 3 for £1 I normally buy in Home Bargains, and just perfect for a 2-day trip away!]
CHARLES WORTHINGTON HAIR STRAIGHTENING KIT FOR COLOURED HAIR x 1 [Spotted in Home Bargains for £1.99, never tried a hair straightening kit before so thought I would give it a go, I have wavy / frizzy hair!]
Now I think I did really well, considering all the 'window shopping' I have done. Been in the Body Shop since we don't have one where I live, and I resisted buying anything - I was extremely tempted though! :T
In Boots browsing at the sales (again!) and No7, but resisted temptation despite the offers in the sales and the fact I have a £5 and £3 voucher of No7 :T
I think I did pretty good... :T

twisted cherry, have you thought about trying to encourage your waves?
I'm not trying to convert you to the dark sidebut for 33 years I thought my hair was a bit wavy, a bit kinky, a lot frizzy and 100% unruly! I was an utter slave to my straighteners, topping up every day and dreading hair wash day because it took so long to tame. Then I over bleached my hair
to go the bright red you see in my avatar <- and my hair was so frazzled, I couldn't straighten it any more, my top was LITTERED with broken off bits of red hair when I tried
Instead, a bought a bottle of mousse and dusted off a long-forgotten diffuser which came with my hair dryer. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a full head of CURLS!
I honestly never knew. All it took was a bit of gentle encouragement and there they were. It's been a real revelation, SO much easier than faffing with straighteners and I no longer see rain as my nemesis
Anyway, I'll climb down off my curly soapbox nowI just thought it may give you some food for thought. I wish I had embraced what nature gave me years go instead of fighting it all the way.
Thankyou for the encouragement ladies, one thing the "stocktake" has shown is a lot of products which are almost empty, I'm going to try and plough through those first which should encourage me to keep going. A bit like losing 5lbs at your first week at SW0 -

I hope so. Even if I don't get a job with any of the organisations I volunteer for, I'm hoping that the experience I gain will help me to get a job elsewhere.
I worked for a bank for 23 years and left at the end of June last year. I completed my Open University degree in Health and Social Care a few months later and am hoping to get work that's relevant to that. Not started looking properly yet but it's on the agenda.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
I went in Boots today and am proud to say I came out empty handed. There was lots and lots of sale stuff but the only items I was remotely tempted by were the Sanctuary Facial in a Box (which is sold out online) and a No 7 set. I could have justified buying either or both of these, as I have very few facial products, but resisted anyway.
I doubt either of them will come up in the online 75% off sale and not sure I want to brave the shop but will see. Even if I do get either or both of them I will make sure I don't make multiple purchases of the same set.
There were loads and loads of boot type slippers by the tills, so they must be desperate to get rid of them! There were 3 designs and one of them was identical to the ones I bought in last years 75% off sale. Strange how they've 'found' them after a year, as I very much doubt they would have been part of this year's range. I have a bit of a slipper 'habit' so I won't be buying any for the foreseeable future!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

Oh I do love my waves and curls... never use to but I do now I am older. When I was at school (many moons ago!) I hated my curls, because my hair was so thick and frizzy. I would get little OAP's coming up to me at the bus stop saying how much they would love to have hair like mine, and how it would save them a fortune on having perms! I use to be really embarrassed but now I see where they were coming from!
I use to have very short hair, but I starting growing it in 2004... my passport photo looks awful! It took so many attempts to grow, but finally I got there! I have in recent weeks been tempted to have it all chopped off but friends and family have told me NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!In fact I am off to submit my passport renewal form tomorrow, and whilst I look the same as I did 10 years ago, I now have longer hair! :rotfl:
I use to use straightens, but they died about six months ago... so I have been experimenting with my hair and do prefer the waves. In fact thinking of it I am not sure why I bought a hair straightening kit today...0 -
after laptop dying, hot water tank developed a leak:eek:luckily DH was around and turned off hot water so no shower since friday:eek::eek::eek::eek:getting it fixed wednesday:)luckily am a member of a gym so can go there to wash but really miss the hot tap, real pain to boil a kettle every time I want a wash...still the upside is I can,t possibly do any house work:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
now book a holiday:)and am about to use telco deals for the flight, never done it before so wish me luck that it works ok!0 -

I am trying to do this with mine. Have started growing out my short hair, now shoulder length and a bit wavy, mostly frizzly. It's better with conditioner and have been using the handbag sized John Frieda serum (got ages ago with the B**ts hair voucher) to try to calm it. I don't have straighteners and not sure if I have a diffuser, is there anything else I can try
Was in Mr B88ts today, there's loads of items left for the sale. Wasn't tempted but did think there were lots of items that I'd like if I got them at 75% offbut know I've still got more or less everything from last year's sale and a lot from the year before too
Happy that I'll be avoiding it this year since no longer pass on way to work
I have 2 OUTS - 1 UU shampoo from BF's flat and also nasty face cream that burnt my face (I had 2 tubes, and one was at BFs)Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

Welcome to all newbies, some impressive stash lists.
Good luck with your voluntary work Noelphobic, after spending so much time on your OU degree I really hope it leads to something. A year of voluntary work was how I got my break into adult teaching, it's a catch-22 situation otherwise, as you know.
A UU of 200 ml of Morrison's Gemspa Body Butter. This was a present, it's now been withdrawn I believe. It was a really thick, rich butter, a slightly oily texture, brilliant as a foot-cream. I would buy it again for just this purpose if I saw it anywhere like HB or £land, not being super penny pinching here, but it's only available in discount shops now it seems.
A NBI. This was a random instant win before Christmas with Magic Freebies. It could have been one of a number of items but it was a 50ml Rituals Yogi Flow Foaming Shower Gel. I have an odd feeling that it was supposed to be full-sized, though I'm not complaining, given the amount of gels I had already and ones was given over Christmas. It's an Indian Rose scent with sweet almond oil.
Going to be a treat to use and this won't be a Pink Rose Candle, for sure.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
